NASTY LITTLE F!#*ERS is a good campy novel. as of a few days ago it was on sale for .99

message 3: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments Lol! That's funny. I used to live in Aroostook County. It went up to 2.99 though. Maybe it will go on sale again.

Dark Mountain by Richard Laymon Loved this when I read it

message 8: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments Thank you Justin. I will let u know. Kev, I almost bought that the other day. Paperback version. Guess I should have...lol. Oh well. There's always digital.

message 9: by [deleted user] (new)

Most of Laymon's stuff is fantastic. You shoud grab anything you can. He really didn't write bad novels. His worst ones still easily deserve 3 stars. He writes a lot of stuff set in the mountains with camping.

No Sanctuary
The Wilds

Both of these are great camping reads by Richard Laymon!

I just picked up a print copy of Breeding Ground I have never read it and don't know what it is like, but I enjoy insect and creature feature horror while camping so this looks like a good choice.

message 18: by Robert Krone (new)

Robert Krone | 157 comments I was also going to recommend The Tent, it is a great read. It is loanable from me as well if anyone wants to check it out. Burke is one of my favorite authors, have enjoyed everything of his I've read so far

I will take one of you up on the offer for a loan of the tent. I just have to catch up on my buddy read and group reads first. I have two books I am reading by myself right now plus a buddy read with cate, and the three group reads for this group coming up, another buddy read coming up and the group read with horror aficionados to read so it may take a while.

yea I saw you recommend them in the spider thread at HA and put it on my list. I found it in print (my preferred reading while camping) at the used book store today.

message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

I think you can only get it in print. Haven't checked in a bit but it never used to be up for kindle.

message 23: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments Those all look like fabulous reads. I'll be adding those to my list:)

message 24: by Addy (new)

I'm going camping next week but it's only a 3 day 2 night trip this time so I am looking for a good novella to read, anyone want to lend me The Tent The Tent by Kealan Patrick Burke or the novellas by the same author which contains the tent?

message 28: by Robert Krone (new)

Robert Krone | 157 comments I can lend The Tent to you. Don't have The Novellas since I already have enough of the novellas in it to make it cheaper to just buy the individual ones, especially since The Tent is only one I paid for. If you'd rather wait to see if anyone has The Novellas that is fine too

I asked in a couple different threads, if I hadn't heard anything about the novellas by Sunday night I will let you know. thanks!
