How do you make a book cover for an ebook on the Amazon Kindle? I've been trying to find a way to make a nice book cover but I don't know if I can use images from the internet because of copyright. Did anyone here make their own cover?

Yes I used Kindle's own cover design tool (newly added to KDP) to recently update my cover. The tool includes some reasonable photos and abstract textures as well as allowing you to add your own photo. It is limited in features but does a better job than doing the whole thing using a standard graphics package.
What I got is an image from google images and then changed it in a photo editor. Would I get in trouble for that?
Also when your self publishing an ebook on Amazon Kindle what does the royalties mean? Which one do you pick like the 35 or the 70. I have no ideas about that.
