I watched The Woman in Black tonight, some really scary moments but felt underwhelmed by the ending. Might have to read the book instead to work it out!

Moore Flannery | 19 comments I just watched The Perks of Being A Wallflower..... And I want my 2 hours back!

message 3: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (merelyreading) I think the book and the film are quite different Jen. The ending to the book is quite shocking. Funnily enough I nearly borrowed it yesterday to watch this werkend, but decided on The Silver Linings Playbook instead. There's always next week!

message 4: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (merelyreading) That should be weekend, obviously!!!

Hailie | 4 comments The last movie I watched (not in the theater) was The Series of Unfortunate Events. The movie was good, but I still like the books better.

message 21: by Jojobean (new)

Jojobean Warm Bodies. I love that movie. And I have a huge crush on the Zombie! I'm so weird :P

message 22: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (merelyreading) I watched The Help last night. I enjoyed the novel, but thought the film took quite a while to get going. However, once it did I really enjoyed it. It stayed as true to the novel as it could. Great cast as well.

Ibrahim | 30 comments The last film I saw was argo

I think it was a good movie

Betty C. | 127 comments I watched The Hunger Games and recognize it is a well-done movie, but as a parent I just could not deal with the concept. I can see why it has a following, though.

message 25: by Jojobean (new)

Jojobean Superman Man of Steel. Henry Cavil is damn fine.....

Ali F (alif-bae) The Breakfast Club, I loved it!

message 28: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (merelyreading) Just watched The Woman in Black. It bore very little resemblance to the novel. Really chilling. Daniel Radcliffe was good, but I won't be in any hurry to watch it again. I'm such a wimp - hate scary stuff.

message 29: by Moore Flannery (new)

Moore Flannery | 19 comments Despicable Me 2, with the small, we are big fans of the first one so we enjoyed proper old fashioned Saturday afternoon trip to the cinema with popcorn. Brilliant. Funny and visually v clever. I hardly fell asleep at all.... !

message 30: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Paulette, a French movie about an old woman selling drugs to make a living. It is hilarious. Watch it!

Costanza (cocobearxd) | 2 comments Im not 100 percent sure... but I think it was The Hangover Part 3! Although I'm not sure it counts, since It was only really the second half! (Me and my friends were trying to sneak into it at the cinema and we only managed to get in near the end! :( It was worth the struggle though! :p)

I started watching Unknown at work last night but only saw the first 40 minutes before my boss came home.

message 36: by Uomo di Speranza (new)

Uomo di Speranza (uomodisperanza) | 2 comments Did anybody see "Before Midnight" with Ethan Hawke? Had to be one of the greatest movies I've seen in quite a while...I could've watched the thing all day. The friend I saw it with, on the other hand, wasn't as enthusiastic--she complained that it was basically her parents fighting for two and a half hours.

message 37: by Grey (new)

Grey Wolf | 35 comments The last film I watched was AMAZING GRACE

I didn't think it would be my type of film, but it was fantastic and utterly thought provoking

I watched My Week With Marilyn last night and it was okay, I wasn't too into it.

message 39: by Stacia (new)

Stacia | 8 comments Jen, I was also a bit under- awed by My Week With Marilyn.

I watched Life Of Pi last night, I am generally wary of watching film adaptations of books that I've loved, but it's actually very good.

message 40: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Saw two new movies that recently came out this weekend... "The Conjuring" is a scary (emphasis on the SCARY part) but it was also an amazing movie and I left with an adrenaline rush! Also saw "Lone Ranger" with Johnny Depp and was pleasantly surprised by how amusing and action packed it was! We have both movies two thumbs up so I highly recommend both!

I saw this in Paris in February and really liked it. Not great, but very good and quite fascinating. It also encouraged me to rewatch "Psycho", which I hadn't done in years. I would also recommened it.

message 42: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Last week I watched Pacific Rim, and yesterday This is the end.

Agata Pietruszewska (jesionka) | 2 comments Recently I watched with my parents Amour - winner of the competition at Cannes. Heavy movie and basically close to me, because every day I meet the helplessness of the elderly to the disease and how to be alone with this problem. As for me, a brilliant movie.

Bionic Jean (bionicjean) Elizabeth - I love the idea of a "werkend" rather than a weekend. Maybe that was a Freudian slip!

Yes, I've been browsing through previous conversations again...

ch Grey, I watched a documentary about Wilberforce (subject of Amazing Grace) and it was very thought-provoking. Slavery is a topic of history that interests me greatly.

We've been watching documentaries the past few months. The last movie we watched was Medea. I love Pasolini. It was delectably raw, and Callas was, of course, stunning.

message 48: by Grey (new)

Grey Wolf | 35 comments I watched The Interpreter starring Nicole Kidman and Sean Penn last night for the 4th time, so you can guess I like it! Its a very powerful study, and both main actors are excellent. Definitely a 9 out of 10. Not sure I ever give a film a 10.

message 49: by Teresa (new)

Teresa | 85 comments Amazing Grace is one of my favourite films and after watching I read a biography of Wilberforce. The last film I watched was Casadaga. It's not bad but I wouldn't go out of my way to either recommend it or watch it again.

message 50: by ch (new)

ch Just watched Dog Day Afternoon for the second time. It has been on my mind for some reason. I enjoyed it just as much the second time around :)
