Jenny, David and I are buddy reading the 4th book in the Gone series! We're starting on Thursday, July 4th! Woot woot!

This buddy read is open to everyone who would like to join us!! There are no set chapters per day, we just read at our own paces and start each post with how far along you are, i.e., Chapter #, %, or page #, using spoilers where needed. Have fun!

I started tonight, and am already 31% in. I'll leave my comments tomorrow, I'm getting really tired! Time for bed!

Yay! Hope it's good so far! I'm almost finished with the book I'm reading so will start Plague immediately after. :)

Yay! I'm 8% in and things are looking pretty bleak! (view spoiler)[ ugh that was gross with the Jennifer's! And Hunter! What is that growth that saved him from the mountain lion? (hide spoiler)]

Okay, so 31% in (view spoiler)[ This one has the potential to give me nightmares. Killer wasp bug things eating their way out of people???? So gross! Poor, poor Hunter, I'm so glad that Sam just put him out of his misery. I have no idea what is going to happen with Drake/Brittany, how the heck it can be stopped--I assume its being fueled by the darkness.
I was so proud of Edilio coming down on Astrid and Albert! It really needed to be said, although right now I kind of just feel sorry for Astrid.
That flu thing is just horrible. So disturbing.
But I loved the light funny moment between Lana and Sanskrit, that had me laughing! (hide spoiler)]

Very gripping already, and equally disturbing!

Now 52% in. I'm liking it a lot now. Getting some more character development which is good. (view spoiler)[ I'm sorry, but Lana and Sanskrit are just the cutest thing ever, I'm really enjoying their scenes together! I don't think Lana knows quite what to make of Sanskrit, but he's definitely not intimidated by her! He's also incredibly smart! (hide spoiler)]

Sorry I'm behind. I got caught up in a marathon of the John Adams mini series. HBO shows it every 4th of July and I apparently need to watch all 12 hours every year! I love the history of our country! :-)

Soooo, 15% in and really freaked by (view spoiler)[Hunter's mouths growing on his body. What the heck?? *shudders* And the Jennifer that coughed out her insides!!? Michael Grant has a crazy dark imagination! Wow! Hope I don't have nightmares! (hide spoiler)]

Ha! Knew it was inevitable. Yeah, I really liked the first scene with Sanjit, the way he handled Lana cracked me up!

I know I love Sanjit(I just realized I was spelling his name wrong *blush) and Lana, they have some great scenes together in this one!

I love history, too, Karen! I'm so glad I didn't turn on the TV yesterday, that would have sucked me in for sure!

I caught the last 3 episodes and then remembered I have OnDemand so found the first 3, downloaded and watched those. Needless to say, I spent a very quiet 4th at home. Too hot to go out so it was nice to spend a mindless day at home!

Sounds like a good idea to watch it then! We had beautiful weather here!

Okay, I'm now 72% in (view spoiler)[ NO!!!! Dekka!!! She can't die, I will be so upset, Hunter was bad enough! I really do not want Caine to leave the island, even if he helps, I'm sure it will be bad all around! I'm glad Albert survived, but I'm guessing he will not be okay. I really hope Edilio doesn't die! And I think Astrid has officially gone insane! (hide spoiler)]

Yes, Karen I think this story is much more horrifying than the first 3! I thought the Nutella was great, kind of funny! I also love Nutella!

Finished... It's the wee hours of the morning and I knew I wouldn't sleep unless I finished. Now I may not sleep because I finished. Oyyyy..

Dekka(view spoiler)[ - Thank you Michael Grant for not killing her off. I love her and her loyalty and friendship to Sam! (hide spoiler)]

Breeze(view spoiler)[ - She turned into quite a kickass and was probably the bravest one there. I'm not sure what I missed that she won't look at Dekka now. Did I miss something? (hide spoiler)]

Caine, Drake, Penny, the rest of the (view spoiler)[bad guys. I know I shouldn't be so naive to think that their evilness is over the top and I do know that their type of evilness truly exists in this world. But still... Wow!! Very hard to read at times! (hide spoiler)]

The fact that I couldn't wait to get back into the story whenever I had to put it down tells me that I was entrenched and am giving this book 5 stars. Excellent read!

You are brave! I didn't want to read this one late at night, so I finished reading Towering last night instead of this one. I'm sure I'll finish Plague today!

I love weekends! I could stay up as late ( or in this case, as early - 4 am) as I needed! Surprisingly, I didn't have nightmares. Hahah...

Lol! I can't seem to keep my eyes open these days! Still a quarter through so I'll be a little late to comment :)

I finished it! (view spoiler)[I was so happy Dekka and Edilio survived, I was really worried! As far as what happened to the bugs, I figured Petey would make them disappear. Dekka whispered something to Brianna when she was almost dead after that gruesome surgery. We don't know what it was, but I'm guessing she told her how she felt. Yes, Astrid has officially lost her marbles. I'm happy Dianna choose Sam in the end, but what is going to happen with that baby??? I love how Caine was so sure at the end he could defeat those bugs, and then his reality check! It made me giggle, I would have loved to see the look on his face when he finally saw the bugs! (hide spoiler)]

I also really liked it, and was satisfied with the ending. I have no idea how this series will conclude! 2 more books!

I am super busy right now, too, and have 3 books I am supposed to be reading today, and I'm not doing very well! I am trying to get my blogging all caught up, too, and we have to get ready for fair next week, and I'm working extra hours at work this week! PHEW!

Finished!!! Loved loved loved it! MG is a genius, I keep saying it in my head. Great spoilers guys, I read them all! I agree with Jenny, (view spoiler)[ Dekka whispered to Breeze how she feels about her so now we'll have some awkwardness there.

Breeze was the best! My fave character!

Ha! The baby with powers cometh, nice new twist for the last two books. I'm guessing it'll come to term abnormally fast.

I don't understand at all why Astrid thinks Petey's dead. He disappeared under his own power to save himself. I thought that was obvious. She's the dumbest "genius" I've ever heard of.

King Caine lol. It was an interesting attempt at a new plot line, but not sure it works for me. Seemed a bit silly.
