This is my second time around and I already have books for most of the words since searching for books in advance is my favorite part of the challenge :)
I'm a student from Slovenia so I'm happpy I got in the Paris group as Paris is the closest to me city from those listed.
Hi team! :)
Gea, you're fast! :D But I also like to do the search in advance thing. I've played every round so far, looking forward to getting started on this one!
I'm originally from Germany but live in Finland, so Paris is the closest for me, too. :D

It's good to see another similar thinking member of the team :) So far we're the only ones to make appearance and I hope Jennifer & Lindy won't be far behind. What do you think about the team name and the captain? I actually like the team name as it is and I won't have much time in summer to be the captain of the team.
Let's wait until tomorrow and then message them if they haven't checked in! :)
The team name is fine with me, if Jennifer & Lindy are okay with it too I'd say let's keep it. Regarding the team captain, let's see if either of them want to do it, I'll also be quite busy... but if we have no volunteers I can do it, I was captain on my last team so I know the drill. :)

I'm not overly excited about being captain, but I can do it. I had to take over midgame last time around as our captain disappeared.
I too have also started looking for books ahead of time and can't wait to get started.

My only advange for challenges is that I read about 30 books a month, since I can't drive, I am stuck at home mostly.
No worries, Lindy, the main thing is that we all have fun! :)
Looks like it's either you or me for captain, Jenn - either way is fine with me, or we could be co-captains. What do you think?

Let's be cocaptains. I only filled in last year, so I wasn't posting the points the proper way, was just posting the books, letter, link to post, etc, and she let it slide.
How do you want to work it?
Also for everyone else, how do we want to work the letters?
Ok, co-captains it is!
Ha, good question... we could switch off on a weekly basis, or have one of us keep track of things inside our group and one do the point posts, or just have whoever gets around to it first do things... I've never been on a team with two captains before, so I'm not really sure what would work best. Suggestions? :)
On my last teams, we always picked letters on a first come, first serve basis and it worked out well, so that would be my preference. But if the rest of you would prefer to assign letters in advance, that'd be fine with me as well.

In my other rounds I played, when the words were called, let's say it was "bike", each player would post I have b, k and e. And so on. And we tried to work it so that if someone didn't have a letter, we'd let them have what they did have. That way no one was stuck searching and searching and searching....and we could get done in a timely manner.
I'm down for whatever too, but don't like the idea of assigning letters.

I'll be leaving this evening or tomorrow morning so I have to know which book to read by then. I will have it finished by Monday morning.

Usually I am at home and can run to the library for books, but I am away and forgot my library card, so cant' even go hee.

On a positive note, I found a Q book that has quite a few of the bonuses. I think that is supposed to be our hard letter this round.

Review:
This was one of the many western books I've read recently and while it was a good book it was my least favorite of the bunch. I liked it well enough to read more from this author.
WoW (nest): She rose from her chair and wriggled her taffeta fanny into his lap, reminding him of a hen settling on her nest .
Bonus word (newspaper): After all, she was in Montana because she had answered a newspaper advertisement for a wife.
Total Points: 3

I'm going to be out of town Thurs through Sun. I will try to check in via phone, but Denise can you please post the teams score this week?
Also if I don't get online by Friday evening, go ahead and just pick your letters and I'll take what is left
I'm going to get my book read and turned in before I go.

Book: Spellcaster
Rating: ★★
Review: I like this book a lot better than the Evernight Series. I think that the way witches do their magic in this story, is interesting. It's different than any other type of spell casting that I've read about. I think this story has a lot of potential.
There are some things that I don't like. For starters, I don't really know what Mateo or Nadia looked like, other than they have black hair and that they're attractive. I wish that I had a better description of the characters.
I can't wait for the next book. I want to know more about Verlaine. I also want to know more about Asa. I also want to know what the deal is with Nadia's mom. There has to be some kind of reason for her behavior.
WOW (nest): "In a nest of seaweed lay a chest half dissolved by time and tide..." location 2115
Bonus word (newspaper): "Since the newspaper wasn't exactly a hotbed of activity even during normal hours..." location 3725

Deadtown by Nancy Holzner
Finished: 23 July 2013
Rating: ★★★★
Review:
The first book in the UF Deadtown series featuring shapeshifter and demon slayer Victory Vaughn as the requisite kickass female protagonist, this turned out to be a fast-paced and highly entertaining read. It took me a few chapters to warm up to Vicky, but I ended up liking her a lot and am looking forward to continuing her story in the sequel.
Bonus Items:
Nest: "I'd take the stone back to my nest..." (Kindle version: Location 4696)
Newspaper: "A sheet of newspaper somersaulted down the street" (Kindle version: Location 1325)

REVIEW:
Annie Seymour is the police reporter for the New Haven Herald Newspaper (The real paper is the Register). She has insatiable curiosity and the incredidible to find trouble. This time around, Annie finds herself
a suspect in the murder? of her ex-husband, Ralph, whom she has not seen in 15 years. Annie is talked into attending a bachelorette party at the Rouge Lounge, and is a person of local interest. She looks good for the crime: means, motive, and opportunity land her in an interrogation room downtown and off her usual beat, which she's forced to surrender to her
She's attracted the attention of both an enigmatic male stripper ("Jack Hammer") and a too-good-to-be-true community organizer cum preacher. Plus she's got her very own stalker. A great novel with lots of action and set in my home state.
Great job, Lindy! :)
I can't find your book under that title, though, but I think it's this one: Shot Girl - can you confirm that for me before I go post our points?

Yes, it's the same author and the book description sounded like it's the one you read, so I was pretty sure I've got the right one - just checking! :)
