Started in N. America and read:
Reconstructing Amelia by Kimberly McCreight which is set in the U.S.

moved back to North America (1)-author born in Canada
The Sisters from Hardscrabble Bay by Beverly Jensen

Turn 1
Virals by Kathy Reichs - finished 8/2 (North America)
Turn 2
Love's Denial by Tamela Hancock Murray - finished 8/4 (Yellow cover)
Turn 3
The Ruins of Gorlan by John Flanagan - finished 8/4 (Blue cover)

Blue cover and takes place in Sweden

I do not recommend this book. It appears to be only available in Kindle format and the editing was horrendous. I've dealt with misspellings before but never so many blank spots in the text. If it hadn't been for this challenge, I wouldn't even have finished reading it.

Europe (3)-Author's Birthplace
Parade's End by Ford Madox Ford
This was a very long book, but it was a great look at real life Europe during World War I.

Turn 4
The Heretic Queen by Michelle Moran - finished 8/6 (Africa)
Turn 5
The Time Keeper by Mitch Albom - finished 8/6 (Green cover)

Turn 1

Set in Australia
Turn 2

Set in North America

Turn 1:

Set in North America - finished 6/8/13
Turn 2:

Yellow/Gold cover - finished 7/8/13

Europe (3)-Setting
The Cellist of Sarajevo by Steven Galloway (8/9)
I highly recommend this to anyone who has not already read it!

Turn 6
Guardians by Heather Frost - finished 8/9 (Brown cover)
Turn 7
Scarlet by A.C. Gaughen - finished 8/9 (Set in England)

Takes place in US and does that count for orange?"
Yeah, I would consider that orange.

Violet Eyes: A Retelling of the "Princess and the Pea" by Debbie Viguié - finished 8/11 (Yellow cover)

***A big thanks to Lauren for offering another fantastic board game for us to read through!***
Categories:
1. Orange (N. America)
2. Yellow/Gold (S. America)
3. Blue (Europe)
4. Brown (Africa)
5. Green (Asia)
6. Purple (Australasia)
The Plan:
Pick any of the above categories for your starting point. Read a book which meets one of the following criteria: a)cover color matches region/continent chosen b)setting is in chosen region/continent c)author was born in region/continent. You have completed your first "turn" with this book.
To take your second "turn" (and each of the following) move forward one number or back one number. Using the same category and criteria above, choose a book for your new continent/region.
My first four turns may look like this:
1st turn: I choose to start with Europe (3) and read Nicholas Nickleby by Charles Dickens who was born in England
2nd turn: I move on to Africa (4) and read We Need New Names: A Novel by NoViolet Bulawayo which is set in Africa
3rd turn: I move back to Europe (3) and read The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas who was born in France
4th turn: I move to South America (2) and read
As a team, we must hit each continent/region at least once.
For the game to be complete, we must read 75 books.
Each book must only be one "space" away from the one before it.
Please feel free to post questions and suggestions in this thread. For the moment, we can also post completed books here, but if it gets too messy, we can open a new thread. We will see how it goes. . .
