Kathryn Linder This group has had so much success that I thought I would try a few I've been trying to remember...

1) African-American children's book. Fantasy/mythic. Something about magic eggs (I remember something coming out the eggs when they are dropped?), a wagon, an old house in the woods? I think the pictures were done in water color.

2) Children's book about the life stages of a quilt. Eventually it's left in the attic and mice live in it, but then I think it's repaired?

3) A young adult romance novel, possible Christian fiction, about two sisters. One of the sisters plays basketball and the other sister is into her appearance. Eventually both find romance with unexpected partners. The basketball player falls for the guy that she runs with. "Winter" may be in the title since I remember a Christmas party of some kind.

Sorry so vague. Would appreciate any help at all.

Kathryn Linder The Talking Egg is it! Thanks, Sarah.

While The Keeping Quilt looks interesting, I don't think that is what I was trying for. The one I'm thinking of has a different illustrator. But I do remember something else about it. One of the things sewed onto the quilt was shooting stars. Ring any bells?

Kathryn Linder Yes! Now that's a name that's embarrassing to forget!

2 out of 3... Anyone know the title of my third query?

Heron | 52 comments I had the third book about 6 years ago. There were college student boarders in the house to help the mom with the rent. And there was an ice skating theme. There were actually two sisters and a cousin from out in the farm land who was kind of a hick, and she's the one that ran with the guy from school every morning. Oh man. The cover is blue with a guy and a girl skating.

Kathryn Linder Yes, I remember those details... I hope they help someone remember the title!

Heron | 52 comments I amazon-ed 'winter promise', 'winter secret', 'winter treasure', and 'winter romance' to no avail. I feel positive that it's a sappy two-syllable word like that.

Kathryn Linder I tried those searches too, but I can't remember!

Tara (snowytara) | 24 comments Is the third book "Winter Love, Winter Wishes" by Jane Claypool Miner? I couldn't find a site that had a pic of the cover, but the description seemed to fit.

Kathryn Linder That's it! I knew it was "winter" something... Thanks, Tara!

Tara (snowytara) | 24 comments Thanks! I work in a bookstore and get a lot of very vague requests for books, so it's a dream to have people give such detail in their queries!

Roberta (robbi_t) Ah! So that's how you do it!

Tara (snowytara) | 24 comments Yup, nothing special. Just a few good search engines, dogged persistence, and good luck.
