Yeah, thanks, Linda. I now see that Meg Gardiner should be added to our fav author list. Anything on Lippman, anyone? I've read a few of her books and have enjoyed them. I add blurbs when I see them; just haven't heard anything about King recommending her.

He ranted about Gardiner on her first series saying she's as good as Michael Connolly ( although I disagree )
He called
the best suspense book of that year. I don't know how to put up a blurb though.
He called

These are her best books IMO.
She has an unconventional writing style Do not pick up "The Most Dangerous thing" as your first Lippman Novel. You would be turned off. her writing takes getting used to.
Should be that 1st book, then you can pick up the others. I find it easier to get used to her writing this way,

Stephen King has only recommended I'd Know You Anywhere, but has not recommended Laura Lippman, overall, as a favorite author. Here's what he said about the one book:
"The best suspense novel of the year. Eliza Benedict has got a nice house and a nice family, and has managed to put the trauma of her life behind her. At least until the serial killer who kidnapped and raped her but let her live when she was 15 gets in touch from death row and says he wants to see her."
Based what I can find on Google, we can't add Laura Lippman to our list as a favorite author.

King also recommended Every Secret Thing and said this about it:
In EW, 11/11/04, A Dozen Thanks, Pop of King, he says: "I'm thankful I found Laura Lippman's suspenseful and ultimately moving Every Secret Thing, not one of her usual Tess Monaghan mysteries but a stand-alone novel now available in paperback (Avon, $7.99). Not as good as Mystic River, but almost as readable, and with that same grim vibe."

Alright, I'll accept that.

sounds really good, I might have to pick that one up one day."
I think you'll like it.
