Do you have a Facebook?

I kinda use mine for the same thing :3 Most of us are twitter users so its not a main platform but its nice to have one for updates :3 I shall like.
@Josh Y u no link me that eariler?!?! I love the art on the page! :3

I'm sorry xD - I love commissioning artists. >w< I guess spending money on art is better than some other things. xD
I used to take commissions on that site back in the day so I agree! :3 And art trade so much! :D Has to gets Fury done so I can scribble in every means again :3
I've done some collabs before. :3
I've been meaning to draw some more, too. The only time I draw something is when I need to scribble together an outfit for an artist to use as a reference. :3

Tried branching into animation for a while, but it just takes so much time for me since I do big stuff frame by frame, haha. Haven't drawn anything since I realised my webseries would take to much time by myself :p But it was the right choice as I started writing Fury the next week and it took off :3
I bought Anime Studio when it was on sale for cheap. I couldn't figure it out, so now I just keep writing.
A similar thing happened to me with my writing, but I was creating a video game for the computer, and I ended up writing a story instead. :3
We all have an urge for storytelling or creating something. And we experiment with a few things and find the method of creation we love the most. Writing. x3

Exactly it all branches off :3 I've always considered myself a writer first and formost :3 There are just times in life where writing can't happen. You have to be mentally prepared for those long nights alone :3

@J.Frank Good luck
@Rhian I do hope you do :3
@Ken thats why I wanted to create a nice safe place for you to do it here :3 Bisky has no problems but she knows other people do :3

Oh I do :3 But when you have lots of followers like me its easy to miss things :3 its a nice place to post where I can visit often for updates of books Im excited about :]

I like my FB and my Twitter. I use them slightly differently, mainly because I have a goodly (50-ish) number of people following my FB Page that actually know me in person, whereas all my Twitter followers (except maybe 3?) are strictly onliners. When I have a moment just to sit and chat on Twitter, I tend to let loose a little more there! I probably promo slightly more on FB because I get positive feedback there.
Oh I don't have hardly anyone I know on facebook or twitter :3 My aunt read my tweets and got inspired to write and sent me a letter about it, it was nice but also abit strange. :p
I think facebook is something special as the feed leads into somewhere thats very personal unlike twitter, so its more special and you have to be more careful what you post :3

I do do some promotional on my FB, like excerpts from books or when the next on is coming out, but most of the people on there I know and have on my personal page. I also have it linked up to twitter. I'm trying to use FB more for things about me and my writing, but I still have a hard time with thinking who wants to hear about me? lol I think that is why I have such a hard time in interviews for jobs. I don't want to disappoint so I sell myself short even though I know I can do it.
I think the most important thing is to stick to something you like to message about :] maybe its funny word themed pictures, maybe its songs that go with writing, maybe its quotes from writers thats the best way I think to keep it up. Don't be shy, even if you fail at grabbing attention you can always be proud you tried :3
@Kirsty, did you introduce yourself before you came here and posted links? Says on your profile you joined yesterday and that seems to be all you've done...

LOL!

I don't get alot of likes on facebook through twitter :3 I think its because facebook is such a personal thing :3

(goodreads is bugging, excuse me if this is a double post)
Don't worry I'll keep on top of it :3 I know your not a spammer. And its super fun to see peoples pages, I am really interested in what you all are writing :3
P.S I am always avalible for beta reads. I do have alot to do, and indie books to review, but beta reading gets pushed ahead of queues :3 (I can't spell/grammar check cause of Mr Dyslexia just so you know :]) But every little helps :3

I think it can be really hard to find peoples author pages sometimes, especially since twitter limits to one website in the little space below your icon lol

I have written this in another forum and repeat it here for those who don't understand social media or how to market through Fb without spamming:
Liking your page has nothing to do with liking you, your book or your page. It’s about gaining a Social Media platform by sharing networks within which you can market yourself and your book(s).
“Liking or Following is the process of gaining access to networks outside of your own website or page. If you know how to use it, you gain traffic and attention for your book through your own page AND other peoples social media contacts.
For example, if you paste information on my feed, (and a mutual like allows you to do that), AND ... this is the important part ... you have provided something so interesting that I share it your paste, because of the size of my network, (according to my current fb stats) on average reaches 122,070 other pages.
Now if 10% of those pages share my share of your original post, it is now seen by millions. In addition to that, my FB page is linked to all my other SM accounts (Twitter, Instagram, G+ Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ etc.) so everything shared with me on fb, which I in turn share, has a direct and immediate feed to 90,000 accounts. Now if these people again all shared or re-tweeted, you are seen by over over 16 million people.
On the assumption that only 2.1% share (which is the official average number) your message shared and re-shared) still reaches a lot of people.
So in short, ‘Like for Like programs are undertaken in an effort to create social spread and a platform for YOU to provide content that attracts attention. Remember the whole world is never going to like you, but if a small percentage do, you will sell thousands and thousands of books.
The “home run is up to you. Create an interesting page sure, but more important create mini “posters or "Adverts" if you like, that encourage other page owners to share your pearls on fb and/or twitterers to RT.
This form of marking is akin to ‘word-of-mouth whispered page-to-page. Results are ultimately in direct proportion to the distribution of “shares and not “Likes, although, of course, one leads to the other.
As with everything, the hard yards are up to you, my Like on your page, and your reciprocal Like on mine, can only help you spread the word it will not make people fall in love with you or your work it will not teach you how to market through social networking –for starters, when you “Like a page hover over the like button to select your networking preferences if you are not getting notifications to your wall you’re not transmitting any either. Remember you can always ‘switch-off spammers and deny them access to your followers.
I do exchange Like for Like BUT because of the size of my network I do not always notice new likes. So when you post please message me at the same time so that I can return the favour.
My link is:

People will click and like you, and it's the perfect time/place, because they have just finished your book and don't even have to swap devices.

Share interesting stuff from your networked pages. If all you talk about is "you" your followers soon get bored with you and leave. Unlike friends, followers need more from you to remain interested in staying linked to your page.
@Hamilton! Damn that was useful! Now I wish I had posted you something more interesting :x I'm such a facebook noob haha. *Goes to search and delete haha*
@Ken I didn't know that! Feel like I'm getting pro tips tonight :3

You're welcome - please note I'm referring to author pages. Personal pages are not set up for commercial networking. As far as marketing is concerned "Friending" someone or "Following" a private page is about as useful as rust on a farm gate.

I made a fan page just last night:
I've got my book synopsis posted on the page. I look forward to meeting you all and hopefully learning some new things. :)
Hi Hogan, I hope you will find the group helpful, It can take alittle while since the site is buggy but there is lots of nice people in this group :3

Thanks for the love!
This is the only place where its ok to post the link in this group :3
It can be your own author page or your book page like mine:
I'd like to like it :3
But of course you have to use it appropriately, updates for your writing and funny writing themed things.
If I click and I see lots of BUY BUY BUY messages or lots of spam. I will just delete you off the thread. You know those people :x
(JUST facebook links. No blogs or other websites. They will get their chance later :3)
