I thought of this tonight when I was jotting down scene notes while waiting for the hot water to kick in.

Do you like your handwriting? Do you envy someone you know's handwriting? And when you hand write something, do you print or write in cursive?

I don't mind my handwriting. I take notes for a student in my biology class, and she likes it because it's very, very readable compared to her other note-takers.

I usually write in cursive, but when taking notes for that student, I print. But sometimes I switch back and forth--my handwritten story parts are crazy. xD

Great questions! I like my handwriting because it's neat, but I love my bff's handwriting. Seriously, his handwriting is immaculate. The curves in his lettering makes me giddy. Sometimes I Ping-Pong between print and cursive too. But mostly I print.

My grandpa had wonderful handwriting. :3

When I was in primary school in England they kinda made us write in cursive (joined up) and now I can't write in print. But they didn't teach it very well and it just looks like hundreds of budgies walked across the page in a hurry :x

My handwriting could never win a beauty contest.
As long as I write in cursive it is quite legible, takes lots of space, though.
If I scribble on a tiny note pad - everything looks quite scrambled. An outsider might even need to decode. ;)

@Bisky - I just wonder if older people have better handwriting because they have more experience? :3

When I was in primary/elementary school they made us write in cursive, too. The teacher said we had to write 3 sentences in cursive and like 2 in print.

@Karen - At least your creative writing notes can remain 'encrypted.' :P

I think it had something more to do with the fact that they got smacked in school and we didn't lol :p

My cryptic handwriting is a clear advantage here. ;)
During the first years at school, our handwriting was important. Having the least pretty handwriting, I always got a D.

@Bisky - They didn't have computers, so they had to hand-write their papers... I guess they had type-writers, but I'm guessing they had written rough drafts. xD I'm glad they didn't have iPads when I was in elementary school. :3

@Karen - Keep the goods classified until print. :3

My brother has really small handwriting. I don't even remember what I got. xD

I would have LOVED having ipads in primary school lol I failed everything up until I took the SATS and the schools realised how smart I am. Just because I can't spell doesnt means I has no brainz! :p

:3 I can't spell either. xD My English professor can't spell either and one of my Education professors, too. lol xP

I hate my writing, it is so ugly! HAHAHA I hate to see what my fans think of my signature when I finally do a signing. LOL

But you can just do whatever you want for a signature, I know someone who has a picture of a duck as theirs.

I should hve been a doctor it is so bad! My 8 year old daughter is far neater. I scrawl across a page. Very happy someone invented computers.

I could have made a fortune as a doctor with mine ;]

Sadly it takes more than bad handwriting to be a doctor!

Some of them I've met will have you fooled though :p

My handwriting can best be described as being "chicken scratches", especially when I'm writing fast.

I love my handwriting. It's sort of a combination between cursive and print, but mostly cursive. I'm a very "showy" kind of person, so I tend to use a lot of swirls and curlicues! ;)

@Willow - It's a nice feeling having something written on paper! :3 The only problem is that you need to type it up xD But that's a good time for little changes. :3

@Robin - As long as you can read it. :D

@Topaz - I alternate between print and cursive, too. With your swirls and curlicues you can make your signature stand out on thank-you cards with oodles of signatures. >:D

I like making my z curly when I have to write something for someone. but when Im by myself I can hardlt read it lol

I do like my handwriting, its a combination of cursive and printing. My printing is pretty nice though I do it in all upper case.

I write utterly atrocious chicken scratch (that's southern speak for illegible scribbles). I've been duly mocked for it many many times. :)

I like my writing, it's loopy and unique because I followed my own rules for certain letters as a kid. It can get really messy if I write fast. I'm teaching cursive to my students. They hate it lol think they'll never use it.

When those students have to take notes in a college class, they'll be writing in cursive. haha!

I dislike my hand writing. I write rather slow and it is ugly. Sometimes I cannot read what i have written (like when I'm in a hurry) and thus I bought a small laptop to take notes in class.

A friend of mine has nice handwriting. I really wish I had such nice handwriting.

Carry - I thought about using my laptop for notes in class, but I wonder if it's distracting for others. The professor of the only English class I have this semester doesn't allow laptops in class for note-taking because she may think we're browsing on Facebook or Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ or something. lol Plus taking notes on paper gives your eyes a break from looking at bright screens. :3

Bisky - Pokemon Unown I love it! lol I tried raising an 'A' one because it's my favorite letter, but it had poor stats. xD

Talking about bright screens I need to find somewhere that sells old school lightbulbs, these engery saving ones don't really offer much in the form of light and my monitor is on its lowest setting lol

It's better to do it by hand I think. Saves your eyes, saves energy--your hand written notes will never suffer from a technical issue.

I hear what you're saying, but I do almost all of my writing on the computer. Interesting thing though, couple of months ago my wife and I stayed at Breitenbush Hot Springs where you could not bring your computer. I did all my writing by hand there. First time in years. I make a totally different set of mistakes when writing by hand as when typing.

And my writing is messy, but I like it!
