Donna (drspoon) This thread is for discussion of section 4, "Austen."

Ben Rowe (benwickens) | 89 comments I felt that there was a lot of scope with this book to look at what it was really like being a women in Tehran told from the perspectives of a range of different women going to the book group. I felt that this chance was largely underused but in this part I did feel that there were places where I got some sense of what it was like and not just entirely from the authors perspective.

Where I felt with Gatsby and with Lolita that the books were a key part to that section (although with a fair amount of artifice) this section although mentioning Austen did not go into any sort of real Austen analysis and more used her as a bouncing off point to talk about love, romance, relationships and women in Iran - which I was fine with.
