The Lost Hero
question
Why is it okay for the Roman Big Three (Jupiter, Neptune, and Pluto) to have kids but the Greek forms of them (Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades) aren’t allowed to?

I’m just confused because Jason is a son of Jupiter, but he was born after the law in the godly world that none of the big three are alloed to have kids. I know Poseidon wasn’t supposed to have Percy, so was Jupiter not supposed to have Jason?

I think it have to do with the split personalties?
Yeah I'm a bit confused as well. The only thing I can think of is that the prophecy referred only to the Greek Gods and their aspects. It would also explain the fact that the first prophecy was never mentioned in the Heroes of Olympus series by the Romans. If there was no prophecy prophesizing the possible downfall of Rome by a child of the 'eldest gods', then there would ne no reason to prevent Jupiter from having Jason (except Hera ;) )
I agree with Akansha, and the Roman aspect of the Gods and the whole society (I've only just finished SoN) I think they make it clear that the ancient traditions of Rome are carried out by the demigods, you know how they're not as strict with separating the demigods after their godly parent? Because they're basically a resource to that community, child of a minor god or not, while in Camp Half-Blood it often sounds like the Gods just couldn't help themselves and so the children started to get in trouble so they had to build a safe place for them...
I think they weren't supposed to have children in either form, Greek or Roman. And of the 3, only Hades/Pluto didn't break the vow. Neptune didn't father any children, but in both his forms, Zeus and Jupiter, broke the vow. That was why Hera demanded Jason to be "given" to her.
