Courtney | 11 comments Hello, all! I'm Courtney and I'm in dire need of a new book.

Now I'm not talking any book, I'm looking for a romance novel in which the main male character isn't just dangerous, but verging on evil. Think Kresley Cole's Lothaire. I did love the alpha-like tendencies of Cole's other heroes. I'm also a fan of Gena Showalter. Lately, however, I've been wanting more. Anyone have a suggestion? I'm open to anything, don't leave a suggestion out even if it includes something like explicitness, length, fantasy elements, a historical setting , kink, rape scenes, or violence. Thanks!

Dina (twidi) | 50 comments You'll definitely LOVE Tony from The Consequences series.. Consequences (Consequences, #1) by Aleatha Romig Truth (Consequences, #2) by Aleatha Romig Convicted (Consequences, #3) by Aleatha Romig .. fair warning though.. this is gonna be a really hard read.. but absolutely worth it ;)

message 3: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 11 comments Hard how?

message 4: by Dina (new)

Dina (twidi) | 50 comments Hard as in emotionally-taxing ;) you feel really frustrated and just want to kill someone.. it's a series that not only let's feel the emotions of the characters in the book.. it actually make you FEEL those as if those are happening to you.. VERY well-written :)

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 704 comments I agree with Dinna about the Consequences series. Also you may want to check out Comfort Food by Kitty Thomas and Captive in the Dark (The Dark Duet, #1) by C.J. Roberts .

Cool. Sounds great. And all 3 are about the same couple?

message 7: by Dina (new)

Dina (twidi) | 50 comments that's correct. I also recommend that you have all three books at the ready, cause you'll wanna plunge right into the next book once previous one is done. lol

message 8: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 11 comments Thanks, I'm actually looking for more of a hero whose relatively cruel to others and evil in the sense that he uses power (whether it be magic, strength, politics, money, etc) to do bad things for personal gain. Maybe he wants to take over the world, or maybe he's an evil king. I'm sorta looking for a book where he desires the female, maybe he's even obsessive, or a book where he doesn't care for her but ends up loving her. Either way, I guess I'm look for a "villain" more than I am a criminal, does that make sense? Also, I'm a sucker for a happy ending.

Okay, that's very specific. I know those qualifications are like impossible to meet. Everyone just keep posting anything with an evil hero, I'll like them. I just thought I'd let you know my specifics incase anyone has an idea.

Dina (twidi) | 50 comments oh my God!! It's like your describing Tony LOL. honey!.. you MUST read it.. you'll get what I'm saying right away.. you won't even imagine what kind of crazy this guy is ;) trust me, you'll LOVE it ;)

namericanwordcat | 242 comments Hook's Pan (Kingdom, #5) and the whole series is interesting.

Paganalexandria | 354 comments I've been reading this series The Devil's Eyes (The Devil's Eyes, #1) by Jennifer Loren The Devil's Revenge (The Devil's Eyes, #2) by Jennifer Loren The Devil's Son (The Devil's Eyes, #3) by Jennifer Loren that fits your brief. The "hero" is the head of a criminal organization with some odd ethics. The road he initially puts the heroine on shocked me but went along for the ride. Later on a supernatural element presents itself also. The series is incomplete.

Pallavi (threequartersthedevil) | 78 comments The Silver Devil by Teresa Denys

He's as bad as they can get. He's cruel, ruthless and a prick. But then he's also obsessed about her. Powerful something.
Best bit, he doesn't get away with being an ass. He grovels at the end. *satisfied smile* Loved this book.

message 16: by Fani *loves angst* (last edited Oct 17, 2013 10:28PM) (new)

Fani *loves angst* (fanip) You should try anything form Anne Stuart as all of her heroes are what you're looking for: selfish, no desire to help anyone but themselves, ruthless, unkind... They usually treat the heroine the same way for a long while as well, but eventually they turn around:)

Definitely try her Ice series, starting with Black Ice (Ice, #1) by Anne Stuart . The hero is an assassin, member of a shadowy organisation with dubious morals.
Lord of Danger by Anne Stuart and Prince of Swords by Anne Stuart are historicals and among my favorites and while I didn't like it, the hero of Ritual Sins by Anne Stuart is pretty bad and perhaps you'll like him.

Devil in Winter (Wallflowers, #3) by Lisa Kleypas is also an amazing book if you haven't read it. However, it's perhaps best to read after It Happened One Autumn (Wallflowers, #2) by Lisa Kleypas where he actually acts the villain, so you can get the complete picture.

In Lions And Lace (Van Alen Sisters #1) by Meagan McKinney the hero proceeds to ruin everyone belonging in the New York Elite for turning their noses on his sister. The heroine is also one of the people he wants to get revenge upon, but things don't go as planned. Highly recommended!

The Vampire Voss (Regency Draculia #1) by Colleen Gleason is historical PNR and features a ruthless, selfish hero that gets fixated on the heroine but doesn't always act the gallant knight even where she's concerned.

Scandalous Desires (Maiden Lane, #3) by Elizabeth Hoyt has a really bad boy for a hero, a man who runs an illegal organisation of protection and bribes in regency (or is it georgian?) London.

But really, ANY book by Anne Stuart will deliver what you want!

message 17: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 11 comments I've actually read Silver Devil. I liked it quite a bit. I'm not a fan of Elizabeth Hoyt though. It's a little too safe for me. I'll definitely look into Anne Stuart though.

Thanks everyone. I'm adding books to my 'To Read' shelf left and right.

Veronica-Lynn Pit Bull | 30 comments If you don't mind a historical. I think Stuart's Breathless (The House of Rohan, #3) by Anne Stuart will satisfy your criteria. Allot of people have problems with the hero being too "villainous".

message 19: by Oleander (new)

Oleander | 55 comments The Lords of Avalon series by Kinley MaGregor have evil heroes. Sword of Darkness (Lords of Avalon, #1) by Kinley MacGregor Knight of Darkness (Lords of Avalon, #2) by Kinley MacGregor

Oleander, I always forget about this series since the author kind of forget about too. I really liked the first one especially.

message 21: by Oleander (new)

Oleander | 55 comments Yeah it was good. I wish she would write some more of them.

message 22: by Honeyinthelion (new)

Honeyinthelion | 1 comments The Dark Duet series - Captive in the Dark. Caleb is all shades of evil, and the things he puts the heroine through, omg ::shudder::. Definitely worth it!!

message 23: by Courtney (last edited Oct 21, 2013 02:50PM) (new)

Courtney | 11 comments Cool cool! Thanks everyone! I added a bunch to My "To Read" list and actually knocked a few off already! I found some good bodice rippers and bdsm erotica. Now, does anyone know any books with a Lothaire-type hero? A bad guy, supernatural, a ruler of some kingdom or species perhaps who stumbles upon love even though he's evil to everyone whose not the heroine?

You might like Shadow and Bone, Courtney.

Veronica-Lynn Pit Bull | 30 comments I haven't read it yet, but this is in my TBR pile from other recommendations on similar topics and I think fits the "A bad guy, supernatural, a ruler of some kingdom or species perhaps who stumbles upon love even though he's evil to everyone whose not the heroine"
Into the Dark Lands (The Sundered, #1) by Michelle Sagara West

I hope youll like it just bear in mind the romance if it can be called that is subtle. The main character drawn to someone who is supposed to be her antagonist...and well...I guess ill let you make up your own mind about it.

Emily (emreadsromance) | 1 comments Oh I love an evil hero!!

Have you read the Crimson trilogy by Trisha Baker? Simon sounds like exactly the type of hero you're looking for - cruel, evil and uses his power to harm others and help himself. He is obsessed with the heroine and definitely more villain than criminal. I highly recommend these if you like that kind of hero.

Also, the SKALS series by Adriana Noir has a good dark type hero. Definitely not as evil as Simon, but as someone who really likes a villain hero, I liked these books too.

Oh yes...that Simon he is pretty evil. To say the least :/

The third book got pretty creepy though.

The writing was hard to get into though.
