I was just wondering these things while reading the book and I could not stop thinking about them, and then I wondered whether anyone else also thought about these things.

1) How the hell was Andrew (Luce's Dad) in love with Kathleen? Didn't they only meet once in person? I just don't understand.

2) Eilen: What happened to her? Did she stay mermaid? Did she decide to become a human again? I don't think these questions were answered. Why didn't the author make it so Luce told her her sister died?

3) DORIAN: (You knew this was coming) Am I the only one who cried? I felt so bad for him. He was trying to get Luce back and show her that he loved her. And what about Zoe, I don't think he really loved her. I think he was just using her in place of Luce. But, he didn't really consider it using because he didn't know what he was doing.

4) The other mermaids. What happened to them; I thought that they would have been reunited with Luce. But there was only a very short chapter with them in it. Maybe it was just to show that they were OK?

5) The multiple perspectives in the story. I usually don't like it when the author does this in a book but in this one I didn't mind. I actually enjoyed reading the story more this way.

I enjoyed the book, but I had the very same questions. Violet was one of my favorite characters, and she's only in like, one chapter. I really wanted Luce to become human afterward, or maybe that drug make it to where they would become humans on land and mermaids in salt water. That would've ben cool, right? I was also hoping for Kathleen to see her sister for real before she died. That would have been nice too. But i'm glad that Luce found out that Cat was alive. I would have been really disappointed if that wasn't in there, but overall I think it was a good book. But what exactly was the invitation? And what did it mean, 'they did not have far to go'?

I enjoyed this book because of the friendships that were made, the action it contained, and the characters personalities. I have always enjoyed books with mythological or supernatural creatures, and the mermaids of twice lost are almost mythological and supernatural. It is always amusing when characters with vastly different personalities are friends, because they just don’t seem to belong together, such as Cat and Luce. Cat is a bitter mermaid queen who wants to see the whole human race sunk fathoms below the sea, but Luce is a gentle mermaid who refuses to be a queen and wants to reconcile the two races. The book doesn’t drive a fast pace, but it also isn’t always slow and boring. You have some places where mermaids are just swimming and talking, and other areas where mermaids are fighting desperately for their lives. While this book isn’t my favorite, I certainly consider it a very good read.
