So, within the next few weeks, I'll probably start working on next year's Banner Challenge. (Can you believe the year is almost over?!?) The mods and I are already thinking about books we'd like to see on the header, but - naturally - we'd like to have the group members' imput as well.

So, what are some popular books we haven't read in Group Reads or books that are coming out next year that you'd like to see on the banner?

If we have enough responses, I'll try to hold a poll so that we can all vote on some of the books we'd like to see added!

So... any suggestions???

Kristina Books coming out in 2014 that i really want to read.

Cress (Lunar Chronicles, #3) by Marissa Meyer
Alienated (Alienated, #1) by Melissa Landers
Ignite Me (Shatter Me, #3) by Tahereh Mafi
Evertrue (Everneath, #3) by Brodi Ashton
The Infinite Sea (The Fifth Wave #2) by Rick Yancey sequel to The 5th Wave (The 5th Wave, #1) by Rick Yancey which I would also reread.

Some to maybe think about

Kristina, these are some great choices - I actually want to read each one, too, lol.

The only thing is, I don't know if we should include sequels to books we haven't read as a group or sequels that weren't on this year's Banner. The upside is that there would be a ton of people who's want to read them, like us, but the downside is that there will be people who have yet to read any of the books and might be lost if they try to jump right into the series. Or be forced to read a series they really don't like. Say, if they didn't like Shatter Me, they'd be forced to read the whole trilogy to complete the Banner. So I dunno...

What would you guys think? Would sequels be a good idea to add? A lot of these we actually read the first book to this year (Cinder, Shatter Me, ect), so would you like to see the series continued, or would you like to focus on a new series or stand alones only?

Something to ponder, I guess.

I'd love to see these on there...

What I Thought Was True by Huntley Fitzpatrick
Perfect Ruin (Internment Chronicles, #1) by Lauren DeStefano
In the After (In the After #1) by Demitria Lunetta
Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell
Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
Panic by Lauren Oliver
The Program (The Program, #1) by Suzanne Young

Or, if we're going to the sequel/compantion series way...

City of Heavenly Fire (The Mortal Instruments, #6) by Cassandra Clare
Into the Still Blue (Under the Never Sky, #3) by Veronica Rossi
Isla and the Happily Ever After (Anna and the French Kiss, #3) by Stephanie Perkins
Let the Storm Break (Sky Fall, #2) by Shannon Messenger

roshay (orshay) I think the more sensible option is first-in-series and stand-alones.
I was thinking these-
Rebel Belle by Rachel Hawkins Avalon by Mindee Arnett The Young Elites (The Young Elites, #1) by Marie Lu Panic by Lauren Oliver The Iron Trial (Magisterium, #1) by Cassandra Clare After the End (After the End, #1) by Amy Plum The Murder Complex (The Murder Complex, #1) by Lindsay Cummings

All are 2014 published books.

Do they have to be published in 2014?

message 8: by Brittany (new)

No, not at all. They can be published anytime, but I'd like to put only popular ones up there that everyone would be at least willing to try.

roshay (orshay) I'm sure anyone would read it if it's by Marie Lu. ;D

You guys might not want to put too many 2014 releases on the banner.
Especially ones that release near the end of the year, since that gives us less time to read them.

message 11: by roshay (new)

roshay (orshay) I actually was thinking about that.

That's what I was thinking. A few - especially if they release earlier in 2014 - would be doable, but if they're released later in the year, it would be harder.

Is it too late to add any more suggestions?

We've actually got the Banner Challenge for 2014 already made, but I don't think you'll be disappointed. =)
