This has been nominated for December. I need it to be seconded. If anyone else would like to nominate something else, go ahead.

I don't see a book! is it just me?

message 3: by S.K. (new)

S.K. Munt (wordwhisperer) I can see on my notifications that it's Mermaid by CT Mermaid A Twist on the Classic Tale by Carolyn Turgeon

message 4: by S.K. (new)

S.K. Munt (wordwhisperer) Teardrop (Teardrop, #1) by Lauren Kate

I'd like to nominate this for BOTM. Just finished it and I'm torn between loving it and 'eh.' But it's definitely water themed, great twist in fact and think everyone in here might enjoy it.

I have Teardrop on my TBR but I was unsure wether to go ahead with it or not based on how it's been received so far. even the die-hard Fallen fans have been disappointed. people seam to either love it or hate it! you seamed to really like it tho SK and that's enough for me to give it a go. So yeh, count me in!!

I think it's one of those books that follow another series but go in a different direction. Which doesn't make the story bad it's just that fans of the previous series can't let go of their favourite characters and comparison gets in the way of a true review

I think I have ruined it for myself tho because I've delved to far into reviews and have a good idea of the plot so there goes the suspense element that you referred to in your review SK

S.K. Munt (wordwhisperer) It's worth it for the conversation it's bound to set off alone :)

Howard Parsons (howardparsons) | 234 comments Ladies,
I'm going to vote for Teardrop as well. I will TRY to work it into my Dec. reading schedule but I can make no promises. I have to read and review The Rabbit And The Raven by Melissa Eskue Ousley for my publisher. (Sounds so weird, that.) I also have to read an review another book for another author as well.
All the while, I'm supposed to be working on Urban Mermaid too.

Oh my heart bleeds for Howard ;) fortunately "my publisher" lives in my imagination and has graciously given me the month off so I'm wide open

That's exactly how I feel Emm! But the swing set thing *breathes in* that was pushing their luck for me.

Okay so I've just finished this one. It's a 3-4 star for me. On the whole I really enjoyed it. At times it would start to flat line (before the secrets are revealed) but then just a sneak peak of something creepy would happen and suddenly it would gain a pulse again. You all seem to be on team Brooks! I'm still on the triangular fence with this one. I do like Brooks and if we are talking true love in a feasibility sense than he is the obvious choice but Anders explanation he gives Eureka (I cringe at that name btw) as how he knows and loves her just reeled me in. Her feeling for him though are way up there on the insta-love scale! I'm going to date both book boyfriends for the time being!

This book lost a star for me in the swing set scene. Not because of what you mentioned Sammy (although some of those descriptions and actions were definitely not called for) but for the intensity of such a crucial scene. It felt sort of like " excuse me bad guys, would you mind just pausing your nefarious plans and perhaps just chat amongst yourselves for one moment whilst we huddle, fill in some blanks and formulate a game play" :)

Oh and the main premise for the book... I mean I don't care if someone beats you with a baseball bat your cannot control that emotional response especially considering the events in Eureka's short life and emotional state!

message 18: by S.K. (new)

S.K. Munt (wordwhisperer) Yes it did flat-line often-I'm still deciding between Brooks and Anders though. Completely agree on the evil huddle.
Still hate the swing-set thing. Mean mean mean!

Don't mind the name Brooks but the others just sounded fake every time.

I can't crush on Brooks because every time I say his name I think of that poor old fella from The Shawshank Redemption :)
