I read this book a couple of years ago so the details i remember are vague but i can'r remember the name of the book for the life of me. The main character is a girl who if i remember right is an orphan. She soon learns that she has powers and the person she is living with is aware and adopted her because of who she is. Like I said what i remember is vague but i remember it beign a book i couldnt put down.

How long ago was "a couple of years"? 2? 3? 10? 15? Where did you find the book? Was it recommended or did it just get your attention because of the cover or the blurb on the back? What kind of book was it? Children's, YA, NA, adult? Horror, just fantasy, romance, dystopian?

wow that's vague but Kushiel's Dart (Phèdre's Trilogy, #1) fits the description

It sort of sounds like The Girl with the Silver Eyes In which a girl has telekinetic powers. If you think of more details let us know.
