I just finished reading Bad Monkey...And I'm bummed and suffereing from withdrawal...Hiaasen's style, plots, history lessons and zany charactors entertain me to no end...I've read almost all his books. Does anyone have other authors with the same writing style?

Try Tim Dorsey or Tom Corcoran.

Have you read his other 12 books, Michael? There's not a bad one in the bunch but Stormy Weather is my favorite.

All caught up with Hiaasen and read most of Dorcy's books. Both Hiaasen and Dorcy have new releases. I'll give Coraran a try. Thanks.

Also try Christopher Moore or Jasper Fforde - both offer crazy plots and zingy dialogue.

Thanks Jill. I haven't read Fforde but I read all of Mr. Moores' zany books.

Just caught my attention. Josh Bizzelle has a couple of zany books that I enjoyed reading.

Being that I'm a Christopher Moore fan, someone recommended Carl Hiaasen to me. I read Bad Monkey and looooved it, then I read Star Island and really disliked it. I'm willing to give Hiaasen another go but I'm not sure where to start! Do I have to read the books in order? Where do I start? Which one is a sure fire good read based on my love for Bad Monkey? Help!

try Where'd You Go, Bernadette - I loved both Maria Semple's books and can't wait for more. Agree with the Christopher Moore recommendations.
