Mish | 3586 comments The only book I’m desperately waiting for is By Blood We Live by Glen Duncan. It's meant to be out in Feb 14 but Text Publishing advised us that there's a delay and won't be out till end of the year.

@Michael Kitto I can't remember the date they (Text) told us. can you?

I'm looking forward to Landline by Rainbow Rowell. Expected release is July. I've read and enjoyed two of hers: Attachments and Eleanor & Park and I have Fangirl which I've heard great things about but haven't read yet.

Andrea | 2132 comments I'll be interested to read The House on Carnaval Street by Deborah Rodriguez, to find out where it all went wrong. I think I read that it's coming out mid-year.

I've read nearly everything Brandon Sanderson's written, and The Way of Kings (first book of the series) is probably my favourite. I've taken up jogging in the past few months, and instead of listening to music, I've been listening to The Way of Kings Audiobook (45 hours of book!), which is a much more effective distraction for me :)

I really want Darkbane to come out sometime this year. It's been nine years since I read the other two.

And Tana French's Murder Squad novels.

Is it the end of the series Heather?

message 25: by Heather (new)

Heather Yeah, for Cat and Bones. She is going to continue with the other characters but this will be the end. She was going to end them earlier but wasn't able to.

Oh, that was my sweetie boy ... Elvis! I adopted him when he was 9 years old and had him for 7 year. He was my familiar, and my best cat (sorry Mathilda). I even got his face tattooed on my left forearm. There will never be another like him. And yes, when I see a black cat, I almost check, just to see if for some miracle, it is him..

Yeah, definitely. I really hope it comes out in 2014- it was meant to come out either this year or last, but who knows?

Oops, nope! I just meant it as a general comment. I didn't realise the thread was meant to be about books coming out this year.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9884 comments I'm hanging out for the next Corinna Chapman book by Kerry Greenwood which I have been assured will be out this year by Kerry herself back in November '13 "Yes indeed five chapters into the new Corinna. Which is presently called The Sapper's Dog." Corinna is always a favourite and we missed out last year as she did another Phryne instead.

No we didn't miss out! We got Phryne instead! I love both series so I am equally happy when either has a new book.

Yeah, we did. I like Phryne but it was Corinna's turn (KG alternates with writing these books) and both my 90 yr-old Mum and I were hanging out for it, but got Phryne instead. No disrespect for you or the Hon Miss Fisher, but we were counting on Corinna and I just hope Mum will still be around to enjoy the next Corinna when it comes out as she's not been at all well.

E.A. Harwik (eaharwik) The Trader's Reward by Anna Jacobs - I've read the preceding four Trader series and found them great. Need to know where/how the series ends.

message 48: by Mish (new)

Mish | 3586 comments I have an idea of what books are being released this year so here's my list of books I can't wait to get my hands on:

Armada by Ernest Cline (Author who wrote Ready Player One )

Tigerman by Nick Harkaway - even though I'm yet to read Angelmaker, I seriously like this sound of this one)

Frog Music by Emma Donoghue (Author who wrote Room & curious to know how different it is to Room)

The write up says it's VERY different from Room Mish! Sounds good!
