I found this book years ago as a book on tape, so I don't know anything about the cover art. All I remember is that the story surrounds a young boy who has to go on a quest to find a set of rings made out of different elements like wood, ice, fire, etc. I honestly don't remember anything else about the book except that I really liked it and would like to read it again. It is a fantasy genre and I am fairly certain that it may be a YA book. I know that is not much at all to go on, but if nobody can help, I am no worse off than I am now.

I still remember the poem after reading the book 40 years ago ("When the Dark comes a-rising, the Six will turn it back, Three from the Circle, three from the track. Wood, Bronze, Iron, Water, Fire, Stone; Five shall return, but one will go alone" - and so on).
