The alternates:
Each number corresponds with the spot on the board.
For colors: The cover has to be at least 50%
For locations: As long as the book takes part at all in the given location .
For Shelves: Any book on the given shelf
For Publication Years: I'll be using how GR has it's publication date listed.
For Authors Names: The first, middle, or last name of the author is ok.
For Titles: Only the first word of the title. A, An, And, and The do not count.
So if the letter is B: The Best Day would be ok. Dear Betty would not be ok.

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments I guess I'll introduce myself lol.
I live in Texas and am married with 3 kiddos. My oldest is transitioning into young adulthood and the two boys are younger and at home still. We live put in the middle of nowhere and you couldn't force me to live in the city again. I read paranormal reads for the most part. Last round was a ton of fun and I cleared some off of the TBR too!

message 7: by ❶İձ❶ (new)

❶İձ❶ (ttea) | 527 comments My turn.
I'm from Croatia (that's in south Europe, across the sea from Italy if you are wondering ). According to that time zone converter, I'm 7h ahead of roll-time.
I love reading and kinda developed little addiction to GR challenges. Don't have favorite genre, book or author. I'm mood reader and I just can't plan ahead what I'm going to read (I'm never in the mood for that book at that moment).
I can read everything except horror books - they are to scary for me.

I loved last round, but sadly it didn't help my TBR. It actually added to it. It did make a dent it one or two series, but it also started few new ones. Speaking of series, I prefer reading books in order. But I don't have problem with read out of order if needed (and depending on series).

I can be captain if nobody else wants that honor. But I would prefer it to be co-captaincy, mostly because of my time zone (and I'm terrible at dice rolling ).

message 8: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments I can co captain with you. If you do the Thursday roll I can do the Sunday roll. If you're 7 hrs ahead if you roll when you get up then it should be a little after midnight. I can stay up till midnight Saturday night to do the Sunday roll.

❶İձ❶ (ttea) | 527 comments Did you miss that part about me being terrible at rolling? :P
Just to prove my point - rolled the die 10 times and only 3 times it was higher then 3 (rest were mostly 1). What can I say, I was always great at monopoly - visited almost every place on the board every round. :P
I'm fine with early rolls, no need for you to stay up. But it would be great to have back up in case of last minute reviews. Hate to lose a roll because I was asleep. Or we can always go with first/last one here, rolls.

Maybe we should wait for Diana and Kme before making any plans. Who knows, maybe one of them wants to be captain.

Diana S | 310 comments Hi Everyone,
I'm Diana, also from Texas. Just checking in and looking forward to Sunday. :) I really loved playing this game last time around. Hi Jenne! We're teammates once again. That's Great!
I liked the Team name " Once upon a time". Thanks Tea for stepping forward on being Captain and Jenne on being co-captain. I'll check in on Friday to caught up on anything new that may come up.

message 23: by Diana S (new)

Diana S | 310 comments I like the "Only Ones" too!

I'm set on my first 6 possible books. I'll mainly be using the alternates. Just waiting for Sunday Morning. :)

message 24: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Tea do you want me to roll Sunday? If you don't want to roll Sunday is no issue I'll be up. Thursday I won't be able to roll till 6-7 am central time. Just let me know how you want to handle it. I'm game for whatever!

message 25: by ❶İձ❶ (new)

❶İձ❶ (ttea) | 527 comments No, I'm fine with rolling on Sunday. You don't have to wait up. At least, that rolling will get me out of bed in reasonable time.
Just think about it, spot will be here when you all wake up, and I'll probably be half way through my book already *snickers*.

I'll let you know when I'll need you to roll. Sit back and enjoy. You have enough on your hands with this challenge.

message 26: by ❶İձ❶ (last edited Feb 08, 2014 06:12AM) (new)

❶İձ❶ (ttea) | 527 comments OK, then, Only Ones it is.

I'll let Jenne know (officially).

I'll change my first post here (#5) in our stats and links post to have everything in one place. I won't be linking your posts before you're done with reading/reviewing. You can reserve your review spot after rolling and edit it later or you can write your review in new post. I'm fine with both ways.
Only thing I'm asking you is if you know you won't finish your book before roll-day, that you let us know on time (day before) so we can figure out our rolling plan. Since I'm 7h ahead (not sure about all of your time zones), I probably won't be able to roll if you post your review in the afternoon/evening.

Let's read and have some fun!

message 27: by Jenne (new)

This was a strong start to a unique series. I've had this on my TBR forever and wasn't very motivated to read it. I'm sure glad I did now and I really want the next book after that ending! If you're looking for a paranormal read that doesn't fall into the typical vamp and shifter books try this! I think any fan of The Taker and Discovery of Witches would enjoy this.

Read : If I Stay (If I Stay, #1) by Gayle Forman by Gayle Forman

Finished: 2/10/14
Rating: 4 stars
Review:
This book was great. Very sad however. I have wanted to read this one for a long time. Very easy read, I would plan to read only a couple more pages and read half the book : ). I would recommended this book to anyone that likes YA especially anyone that loves music which is discussed quite frequently in the book.

Dead Hunt (Diane Fallon Forensic Investigation #5) by Beverly Connor
Title: Dead Hunt
Author: Beverly Connor
Series: Diane Fallon #5
Finished: 10.02.14
Rating: ★★★★
Review:
It was fun book. Diane Fallon is forensic anthropologist who works as museum director and as director/leader of local CSI team. Every book has (at least) 2 cases solving. One is connected to museum (not always bad) and other one is murder. I like how you learn 'behind the scene' about museum workings. This time 'museum case' was about stolen artifacts and CSI was solving serial killer case.
If you like forensic mysteries, I would recommend reading this series.

❶İձ❶ (ttea) | 527 comments Jenne wrote: "My read was a surprisingly fast read. I don't usually knock one out in a day."

I can get book in a day. Depending on the book mostly. But lately I'm reading few books at the same time (one on the reader, one on the audio, one on the tablet/computer) so it takes me little longer to finish one book. My average is about 5 books a week.
I did start this year pretty good (I'm done with 40+ books). But most books were on shorter side - few short stories/novellas and around 150 pages.

Read: Divergent (Divergent, #1) by Veronica Roth Divergent by Veronica Roth
Alternate: Maybe (p.1)
Finished: 2/11/14
Rating: 3.5 ★★
Review:
It's set in a Dystopian society in futuristic Chicago selected upon fractions. These fractions are based upon the traits and talents of the individuals that are 16 years of age. But are they really? Do they really have the freedom of "choice" of which fraction they should belong too or is it another form of control based upon how one should think and act.
Then along comes Beatrice Prior. Someone who thinks for herself. Does the knowledge that she is one who is known as a Divergent frees her from selecting a fraction or put her into danger? Looks like shaking the system is her calling.
I loved the concept of this book! I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the trilogy. I'm very curious to see how the author brings about the conclusion of this tale. That is why I'm giving it 3.5 ★★.
I'm glad I was able to read this book before the movie came out in theaters.(March 21)
