Discuss your nominations for Monthly Reading Group here! Why you recommended it, link to your review, comment on other people's choices, etc.

Posts from this thread will be kept, unlike those on the Master List.

Donna (deety) I have two nominations. The first is The Stepsister Scheme, by Jim C. Hines. It's a fantasy novel that picks up where Cinderella left off. After her Prince Charming gets kidnapped, Cinderella (whose real name is Danielle) sets off to rescue him with a tough beauty who never sleeps and a pale girl with mirror-related magical powers.

The second is Magic Lost, Trouble Found, by Lisa Sherin. The heroine, Raine, ends up with a dangerous magical amulet that her enemies would kill to possess. It's a good action-and-intrigue story, and one thing that stood out for me was that the heroine had friends and family who got as much attention as her potential love interests. That's rare, and kind of awesome.

I would like to nominate The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein, even though it is not strictly Fantasy... although the narrator is a dog and there is also a possessed zebra (you'll have to read it to find out what that's all about).

Anyway it's a great book, you're gonna love it.
