Silje (sikna) | 1381 comments Ok, then I say we use it for the goal. With our luck this goal will probably show up again:P

message 402: by Silje (new)

Silje (sikna) | 1381 comments By the way, is there a reason line 56 on Commodus goal sheet is open/empty?

message 403: by Annika (new)

Annika | 1744 comments Are we allowed to ignore a/an/the?

message 404: by Emily (new)

Emily Annika wrote: "Are we allowed to ignore a/an/the?"

I believe in the past the Mods have said to ignore it, yes.

message 405: by Silje (new)

Silje (sikna) | 1381 comments Yes, we can ignore a/an/the. New goal: Read a book that starts with the letter K

Nevermind. Misunderstood your question. :)

message 407: by Denise (new)

Denise (kitsune816) | 1647 comments Oh, cool! Thanks for noticing it was the boxed set! So that was one out of the way at least. :)

56 is empty because that's where our Central America goal was. The mods removed it when we used the boon.

message 408: by Annika (new)

Annika | 1744 comments You can use Succubus shadows for urban fantasy :)

message 409: by Silje (last edited Aug 25, 2015 01:36PM) (new)

Silje (sikna) | 1381 comments Sorry Annika, didn't see your post, I used Blood of the demon.
New goal Read a book where a character is a ghost

message 410: by Annika (new)

Annika | 1744 comments None of mine will work for that one, I can help you check the rest if you want?

message 411: by Silje (new)

Silje (sikna) | 1381 comments yes please, I take Gabrielle books and you Commodus?=)

message 412: by Denise (new)

Denise (kitsune816) | 1647 comments I've already started going through them - but there's a possibility that someone may be able to tell us if one of their books works. It doesn't have to be a MC and may not be listed in the blurb!

message 413: by Annika (new)

Annika | 1744 comments From what I can tell, none of the Commodus books has a ghost character :(

message 414: by Denise (new)

Denise (kitsune816) | 1647 comments Dark Triumph works.

message 415: by Denise (new)

Denise (kitsune816) | 1647 comments Read a book that contains the word peas

message 416: by Silje (new)

Silje (sikna) | 1381 comments The scent of lilacs has "peas" in it, but of course we have already used that one!=P

message 417: by Denise (new)

Denise (kitsune816) | 1647 comments Of course! ;)

NOS4A2 has peas in it and I'm finishing that one today either way. So if we DON'T have it covered already I can complete it in a couple of hours. I have less than 100 pages left.

message 418: by Annika (new)

Annika | 1744 comments None of mine will work =(

message 419: by Denise (new)

Denise (kitsune816) | 1647 comments Also, I don't know how I missed that JR Ward book earlier, LOL.

I *have* to read my W book before the end of the month anyway so it doesn't matter, lol. I'm actually kind of glad it's not needed for the goal because I don't really feel like reading it today. :P

message 420: by Denise (last edited Aug 25, 2015 01:58PM) (new)

Denise (kitsune816) | 1647 comments I'm not finding previews available for a lot of the books on Google books, and I can never get the Amazon look inside thing to work properly for me. I did check all of my books, and Daughter of Smoke & Bone and Death Masks since I have those in ebook. No peas!

message 421: by Silje (new)

Silje (sikna) | 1381 comments Anita's Queen of Babble has peas! wohoo!

message 422: by Denise (new)

Denise (kitsune816) | 1647 comments Nice! :D

message 423: by Denise (new)

Denise (kitsune816) | 1647 comments Read a book with a giraffe

message 424: by Silje (new)

Silje (sikna) | 1381 comments None of my books fits that one...

message 425: by Annika (new)

Annika | 1744 comments Neither does mine....

I'm thinking that this could be a difficult task, and we might want to consider using a boon.

message 426: by Denise (new)

Denise (kitsune816) | 1647 comments Maybe after some other people check in! We read such a wide variety of books between all of our team members, someone may have one. I'm curious to see if any other teams have had the goal as well, and if so what they've used! :)

Anyone have something upcoming or that they can read for a book starting with a K?

message 427: by Annika (new)

Annika | 1744 comments I have a K book, but I need to read a couple of other books first so I probably can't get to it 'til end of the week.

message 428: by Delta (new)

Delta (sicname) Does anyone want to read The Zookeeper's Wife: A War Story? There is a giraffe or two in it. It's a good book, although a bit long.

message 429: by Denise (new)

Denise (kitsune816) | 1647 comments Annika, cool. Brittney said she should be finishing her Christie book tonight so maybe she has a K book! Or a giraffe, lol. But at least we know we'll be able to cover it at some point. ;)

There should be a countdown posted at some point soon too, current round ends this coming Saturday!

Other books with a giraffe:
Life of Pi
The Secret Zoo
The Glass Castle
To the Sea
The Boy with the Painful Tattoo

message 430: by Brittney (new)

Brittney | 655 comments Finished The Mysterious Affair at Styles by Agatha Christie. It's in my bookshelf. I am on my phone app right now.

Also I have Keeper of the Bride by Tess Gerritsen I can start for the book that starts with a K

message 431: by Teresa (new)

Teresa (teresab78) | 1573 comments As soon as I'm done with my current boom I can read A Boy With A Painful Tattoo

message 432: by Teresa (new)

Teresa (teresab78) | 1573 comments And by boom I mean book :p

message 433: by Teresa (new)

Teresa (teresab78) | 1573 comments And by boom I mean book :p

message 434: by Denise (new)

Denise (kitsune816) | 1647 comments Nice, Brittney! :D

I was also able to use A Pledge of Silence for the next goal (main genre historical fiction).

Next up: Read a book with the word work, job, career or occupation (plurals are acceptable) in the title

message 435: by Denise (new)

Denise (kitsune816) | 1647 comments Teresa wrote: "As soon as I'm done with my current boom I can read A Boy With A Painful Tattoo"

Yay! :D I can't remember what team used it but someone used it for giraffe so just keep an eye out for it. :)

message 436: by Brittney (new)

Brittney | 655 comments Awesome work everybody!!

message 437: by Teresa (new)

message 438: by Anita Reads (new)

Anita Reads | 1677 comments I finished A Hunger Like No Other by Kresley Cole 356 pages

message 439: by Delta (new)

Delta (sicname) Denise wrote: "Next up: Read a book with the word work, job, career or occupation (plurals are a..."

I misread the goal and thought we needed to read a book with any occupation in the title. Boo. I don't have anything that fits. Lots of books about careers, but nothing with the word in the title.

message 440: by Denise (new)

Denise (kitsune816) | 1647 comments Great job, everyone! :D

Delta, I did the exact same thing. I can take this one though - I just checked and I have The Job (Fox and O'Hare, #3) by Janet Evanovich that I could read. I haven't read (and for some reason don't have lol) the second book in that series, but with mystery series it usually doesn't make a difference if you read a bit out of order. :)

message 441: by Annika (new)

Annika | 1744 comments I've finished Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, 223 pages - # 483 on the bestseller list.

message 442: by Silje (new)

Silje (sikna) | 1381 comments I have The Job Offer The Job Offer by Eleanor Webb as well that can fit the goal.

message 443: by Denise (new)

Denise (kitsune816) | 1647 comments *high fives Annika*

Silje, I started the one I mentioned already, LOL. I figured it'd be quick and a lot of other people were already working on goals! :)

Next up: Read a book with yellow text on the cover

Going through our books now. If we don't have one, the W author book I started yesterday would work.

message 444: by Annika (last edited Aug 26, 2015 08:45AM) (new)

Annika | 1744 comments *high fives back*

I have a couple of books with yellow text :)

You can use death of a pirate king or catch my breath.
I'd probably go with the second one - we have two of it :)

message 445: by Silje (last edited Aug 26, 2015 08:45AM) (new)

Silje (sikna) | 1381 comments Anyone think one of these works for yellow text on cover? A Real Cowboy (Rich Rugged Ranchers #2) by Sarah M. Anderson Catch My Breath by M.J. O'Shea Astounding! by Kim Fielding

message 446: by Annika (new)

Annika | 1744 comments I'm voting for the second one - we have two of it we can use :)

message 447: by Denise (last edited Aug 26, 2015 08:47AM) (new)

Denise (kitsune816) | 1647 comments Let's go with Catch My Breath. We have that one twice (Annika and Teresa both read it) and I'm trying to save the Cowboy book for the goal where the first letters of each word in the title have to spell a word in case we get that, LOL. (Unless there's something else that only that book works for, obviously!)

message 448: by Silje (new)

Silje (sikna) | 1381 comments Fine by me=)

message 449: by Anita Reads (new)

Anita Reads | 1677 comments If we haven't finished one with yellow text on the cover I can read Summerset Abbey (Summerset Abbey, #1) by T.J. Brown (if gold works as a type of yellow), but I'll have to finish a few books before I can get to it.

message 450: by Denise (new)

Denise (kitsune816) | 1647 comments Read a book where the same consonant appears in the title at least 8 times
