Does anyone here have recent experience re how long it takes, after one approves a proof on CreateSpace, for the paperback to go "live" on Amazon? I vaguely recall that it's taken about 1-1/2 to 2 days: is that currently accurate?
Hey Karen, from what I recall, for me at least, it happened almost immediately. It took some time for them to add elements to the sales page (a clear cover photo, the 'look inside' option etc.) But I was so excited after publishing I right away went to Amazon and typed my name in and it was available.
They say 5 to 7 business days and that seems about right, if not shorter. I feel like they give themselves extra time and always do things quicker than they say.
That's just my experience though, which is a little hazy because I actually made it available online, but then found problems (my fault, not theirs) and pulled it off, then resubmitted twice before I was happy with it. So the release process all kind of blends together for me.
My experience was much the same as Joe's, although I'm also a bit hazy about it now. As far as I recall, the extra bits and pieces didn't all appear at the same time, but I think everything was in place about three days after the book went live.
Thanks!
