That would be lovely Jan :)

Do you want to set up a thread in the group or should we just comment on our updates?
Lol. Sorry. I saw your comment on my review after I had already written this... 😁

Anytime! As long as it's in January. :D

Dang! You're so smart! I should probably start reading book summaries so I know what the books are actually about... haha. I had NO idea this was American Revolution. haha.

I’d be interested in buddy reading Lady Isabella’s Scandalous Marriage with you. I’d be able to read it at the end of January. If that isn’t too late?

Absolutely not! It will probably take me 1 to 3 days to read. Do you want to do the last weekend of the month? or the 29th, 30th and 31st?
Hi all,
A few Buddy reads being planned, and here's another for those that want to join. Andrea CP, Mariana and I will be starting Lord Edward's Mysterious Treasure: The Breton Adventure on the 12th. All are welcome, and I do feel that each book in this series stands pretty well on its own.

Giselle,
14th? How would that be? And I'm very new here, so you'll have to tell me what to do, how this works etc....
If I'm too much for you, that's okay, I understand. I'm trying not to be needy. I'll be putting this on my TBR list regardless.
Thanks :D Shannon

I was thinking January 24 or so. Will that work?

First off, don't be silly. I love buddy reads! It's probably my favorite aspect of this whole group. And I had no idea what to do when I first joined too.
I set up a topic (linked down below) When we discus the books we either plan out how much we want to read each day or we wing it. (I'm fine with either) We just put the Chapter and then a spoiler block out. (you can see how to do this from the (some html is ok) above you comment box when you're commenting.) And then we discus and talk about the book!

Lady Isabella's Scandalous Marriage has been our monthly pick before. (October 2017) Can I start a fresh discussion for our buddy read or would you prefer that we use the past topic?

sounds great....I'll give it a go. I'm not a terribly fast reader, but I'm getting this on audible so any length should be fine. I'm so excited! Thank you for your patience :D

That sounds awesome!! I'm just asking a mod if we should use the old topic or start a new. But I'm excited!

You can create a new thread or if you are fine with it, you can use the BOTM thread( this one might have a few spoilers). It is up to you.

Great! Thanks for setting things up. I am currently reading Madness of Lord Ian MacKenzie, book 1 in the series. I’ll be ready for book 2 shortly!

Wow, Penny Reid's review is really selling me on that book.

It's called

My only caution is that you read the preview to make sure you can get used to the way the story's written in the dialect of the time. I've often thought it might be fun in a BR to decide how to pronounce some of the words. But I got through them just fine. Still, best to check for yourself, though.

I'm not paying 7.99 for a kindle book , so I ordered the paperback, I should have it by Thursday.

my general rule is nothing over 5 dollars unless I can still read it in a post apocalyptic future

Hi Kathy, I think this sounds interesting and would be interested at some point, can’t right away. I am also interested in A Scarlet Woman: The Fitzgeralds of Dublin Book One, which I think you posted about before.

Yes, I think I did share my reviews here. Those stories are really good reads. If you ever feel like a BR with either, let me know. I am waiting to reread them.

Here is the ŷ group: /group/show/...
And I also just posted my announcement here on my bookish YouTube channel explaining about it.

Gah!! I want to but I already have 31 books on my February TBR... I think if I add another book my brain will explode. Definitely keep me posted on them and I may jump in! Because I'm crazy!

Geri wrote: "In February, I’m feeling a bit Scottish. :) Anyone want to buddy read Highland Fling, Never Seduce a Scot, or Hero in the Highlands? I can buddy read ..."
I would be interest in Never Seduce a Scot, since the audio is on Hoopla.

Great! How about February 14? Valentine’s Day seems perfect to start. Have you read Maya Banks before? I have only read her contemporary romance.

31 books!! WOW! Happy reading!

Thank you! There are a lot of readathons going on this month that I'm trying to participate in and then on top of that a bunch of my library holds came off all at once.
The readathons in case anyone is interested are.
#UnicornReadathon
#Cozyathon
#FeministLitFeb
#Faebruary
#TimeHopAthon
#InLoveAthon
#ContemporaryAthon
and 2 more that I'm not participating in because I only heard of them today are:
#Femmeuary (which I guess technically most of my books fit into anyway...)
The Romance Readers Readathon
So yeah. Basically all the readathons are happening this month,
Geri, the 14th works well for me. I have listened to one of her Scottish series and really liked it. I think I have tried one of her contemporaries.

Wait-what there's a #UnicornReadathon???

It's a super chill readathon where the goal is to just read books with magical creatures in them or on the cover or in the title.

This wasn't the book I initially planned to read, but I will give it a go if you wait to start the Buddy Read until the 17th or 18th of the month.

OK. I created the thread. I looked up the other Highlander series. It has to be the McCabe series. I actually read that one too. Forgot about it!
I did the same thing, Geri. I thought I hadn't read any Banks HR, but then I double checked before responding.

Me too! And it fits perfectly into my reading month too. The first half of the month is extremely heavy in the buddy read department for me and then in the 2nd half I had nothing! I was honestly kind of bummed about it so thank you!
