I just don't like spam or self-advertising. That's not why I created this group.

Hello. I'm Michelle (or Chell as my Nieces and Nephew calls me). I started this group in Shelfari. And I'm not a big fan of Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ, so it's taken me a while to make this jump to be active here. Although I will never give up Shelfari!!!

I love to read, and I'm a hopeless romantic, so I do love a good romance book or three. Hope everyone likes what I've been doing to this group here so far.

I'm John or as my grandson calls me, PaPa. I have been active on Shelfari for several years and also a member of Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ and Leafmarks. Could you explain to a newbie to the group how the challenges for October work?

One thing that Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ seems to do well is facilitate challenges.

Just wish Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ would make it simpler for me to figure out how to make a challenge check thingy to help us keep track of the books like some of the other groups have.

Hi. My name is Paige. I have just transferred over from Shelfari and feel at home among my Shelfarians. I love historic fiction, but like to change it up also with fantasy, suspense and memoirs. I love books with characters that have mental health issues. That might be because I am a psychotherapist and have a heart for people dealing with challenges beyond the norm. Looking forward to getting to know all of you.

Hi, I'm Karin, which is the same name I've gone by on Shelfari. I like a variety of books, although perhaps not everything, and the challenges I'm doing this year are mostly the sorts that allow me the freedom to do something like this. I sometimes work hard to do that, but it can lead to some interesting reading this way, and I'm up to getting out of my comfort zone again this year.

I like to read a variety of things, but I'm going to try to catch up on some Classics this year, some of which have been on my list for many years! Hope I can do it! I have so many books on my to-read shelf (of just about every genre) and I love Michelle's challenges because they help me decide which books to read. I love the process of finding which books will fit each month; sometimes it seems like I spend more time choosing books than reading. I'm like a kid in a candy store.

Hi, I'm another sad Shelfari refugee. I'm with you Connie about the time spent searching for just the right book to fit all these challenges that I get myself into. Browsing the shelves is nearly as enjoyable as reading.

I'm Jan - was Jerseygirl on Shelfari and on this site, known as Lady Studland (Oodles) which is my alias in an Anglophiles Anonymous group. On Leafmarks, it's Jan and my icons are the same as they were on Shelfari. Glad to see the group here...I am trying to assimilate...not sure I will be successful but it's nice to see old friends here.

I was happily doing my life until one day I found this terrible announcement that Shelfari was merging with Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ. I only used Shelfari and so to think that I had to start all over in a different forum was kinda stressful but I'm more or less used now. I'm still updating my shelf, little by little, but I hope one day I can try some challenges again.

I was Open_Says-a-Me on Shelfari, and I like to read mostly horror and fantasy, but lately I've been hitting on some classics and I'm loving it!

Michelle was kind enough to send me an invitation to join this group and so I will but I may not get started being active here until I finally get the rest of my Shelfari information moved over. I was short 650+ when they moved my books over and only 1 review came through so....I've been scrambling with what extra time I have to get this all done. Don't even ask about the dirty dishes in the sink!! :) Anyway, I'm retired with a husband, 5 grown children, 6 grandchildren and 2 cats and I love to read just about anything (or at least I'll try it). Glad to meet you all!!

Thank you Terri--I'm finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel and sort of getting more comfortable with things here. My husband says if I don't get things under control soon, he's looking for a new wife!! :)

Thanks, Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ is fine, and I find that some of its features are actually pretty good, but being forced to move like this... sighs I'll manage to get it done, I'm almost there :)
