Hope so it's nice being able to give more books, and I'm not sure how much difference the tax will cause this year.

That's what I'm waiting for. It makes for a Merry Christmas for me and my giftee!

I think their excitement when they get lots of goodies will make up for it =D

Yeah, that should help now if I could just get her to put more books on her self. I don't know her and we're not already friends so I really need a little more insight as to her reading taste and friending her would be such a total give away, lol.

I'm in the exact same boat Karen. I'm not even entirely sure I know who I have here on GR because they might not be using the same username

I know, I don't mind getting or giving random books but I want to try and make it something that I honestly think they'll enjoy and my taste can be a bit on the eclectic side so if I base choices strictly on what I think they may end up hating me for it or worse just really not enjoying and that would make me sad :-(

Check by email address!! Then you'll know for sure.

I tried that. I think my person is using a different email address, because when I searched it came up as not belonging to a GR member.
I'm sending you a quick pm Heather. =D

Sure!
Sure!

I'm starting to worry. Of course there's no way to ask them if they received it without giving away it was me...so hopefully they will check their email soon and see Amazon has a gift card for redeeming.
Hint to all- check your email spam file!

You can always message me and I can send them a reminder if it doesn't get claimed!

Please check your spam notifications since I haven't received notice from Amazon that my giftee has accepted my first gift.

I'm sure! Lots of people are waiting to shop until after Thanksgiving because of the sales.

True! I can't wait those sales! I'm trying to not buy any more books before then :).

Isn't it just so much nicer than buying for yourself?
There's a thrill to browsing someone's elfster and gifting as well as the obvious receiving nice things

No you're definitely not the only one! ; )

Nope, you aren't the only one. I keep adding books to my to-read list. I'm trying not to buy any until the exchange is over, but temptation is hard to overcome. I have over forty books already purchased and waiting to be read in my Kindle.

Definitely not alone!

*bites fingernails* I should take a picture and show you my tbr bookcase. But there's no way I'm telling you how many books I have waiting tbr on my Kindle. *bad Lisa*

*Gasp!!!* you mean it's not...errr...uuuummm...I'll just be over here in my corner...staring at book covers and adding to mount TBR.

*snickers* *tiptoes out before fingers get pointed*

You know you've found your place when someone mentions 40ebooks to read and it seems like bliss!

LOL Yep... I've 499 books to-read that're lurking on my kindle... no idea when I'll ever find the time to read them all...

True but the fun is in the trying.

Gifts are still coming!

Same with me Vivian! ; )

Of course not :) I'm sure they'll be happy when they get their goodies!

Well. Briefly. And then I feel happy LOL.
xD And if someone says it's okay, I'll feel better about myself. I'm a strange bird... I'm working on it. -snorts-

That is part of the reason for the exchange! I know I hesitate to spend $15 on books for myself, but I'll blow that easily on another person. :)

I hear you. I often find myself being all grabby hands over a book and then I have a conversation similar to this in my head:
"Well... I could get this book... or... well, I guess I should fill my gas tank and get groceries..."

Were it not for my kids, this would be me exactly. And it's a close thing anyway. :)

No it's not bad at all. My birthday is right near Christmas but in years when I have the funds I always get myself a gift.

Also have a near Christmas birthday here. It sad when you have to endure the dreaded combined birthday/Christmas gift and sadder when you can only afford to give yourself that kind of gift.

My mom has the same birthday as you (Dec 22) and I ALWAYS make sure and give her separate gifts. Plus my daughter is the 17th, so people are already starting to combine her birthday and Christmas, which she doesn't understand (she's going to be 5.) I was always stuck with Halloween-themed stuff because my birthday is two days before Halloween. It sucks when you're born close to a holiday.
