I use to love road trips. It was always a great audio time but those don't happen anymore :(

Delta (sicname) K-Terror, I'm in Schnee Igloo, but we can still support each other!

Delta (sicname) AMMP has lots of challenges, buddy reads, books of the month, etc. They have these quarterly events where you can join a book and do individual and team challenges. I missed the summer one, but the winter one looks like it will be lots of fun.

I hear you. I don't own a car any more (haven't in years and years). My recent road trip was financed by my mother (we went to Oklahoma to bury my father). I drove a rental car. Around town here at home, I drive my parents' Jeep.

When I lived in Seattle, I rode the bus or walked everywhere, so I was able to read print books.

Sounds like fun. I'm going to have to check it out. Thanks Delta :)

K~Terror (k-terror) | 5600 comments I'm in Lumi, Delta - and it's true... We're teammies here so it's like we're teammies there too. ;)

Carmen - Join AMMP at your own risk. It's like a fantasy come true for the reading challenge junkie... Individual or team challenges, small-medium-large-or-EXTRA-large challenges... It's a crazy find & read a book frenzy...

☼♎ Carmen the Bootyshaker Temptress ☼♎ | 7238 comments Oh the addict in me is having a twitch problem LOL.

☼♎ Carmen the Bootyshaker Temptress ☼♎ | 7238 comments I'm lucky I can't get to it because I probably would LMBO

Delta (sicname) If you have a challenge addiction then I can't be responsible for feeding your addiction.

☼♎ Carmen the Bootyshaker Temptress ☼♎ | 7238 comments Hahahaha don't worry I take all the blame :)

message 112: by Delta (new)

Delta (sicname) If you decide to join the Winter Wonderland Expedition, make sure to tell them K-Terror and I sent you. We get special badges for referring people. lol

message 113: by Monica (new)

Monica (nutz4reading) I seem to have gotten myself into a few group challenges again. I am on Team Neve in the Winter Wonderland Expedition

You should check it out. I joined when they did the HP Challenge and I haven't left yet.

Delta (sicname) Peer pressure!

☼♎ Carmen the Bootyshaker Temptress ☼♎ | 7238 comments hahahaha it worked. I found the group and mentioned all the peer pressurer. LOL. Hmm is that an actual word? Well it is no LOL

☼♎ Carmen the Bootyshaker Temptress ☼♎ | 7238 comments I just hope I get the challenge correctly. I'll have to see the rules or an older thread of something similar so I get it correctly.

message 121: by Jen (new)

Jen (reader44ever) | 2930 comments I checked out AMMP and that Winter Wonderland Expedition but I had trouble understanding how the challenge works. So I think I'll pass on joining for now. PKC, NBRC, and my other two groups' challenges are as much as I can handle, I think.

message 122: by K~Terror (new)

K~Terror (k-terror) | 5600 comments It's overwhelming at first for sure! It's basically a theme "Winter Wonderland" - and when you sign up they assign you into one of the igloos. The igloos are just a common place where you do a lot of chatting with your teammates & it's where many of the announcements are made for new challenges. You just pick & choose which of those challenges you want to do ~ kind of like anywhere else.

Some challenges you can join with a team and some are individual.

Delta (sicname) Besides the Tower Teams, what challenges is everyone doing in the next few months?

message 125: by Jen (new)

Jen (reader44ever) | 2930 comments Delta wrote: "Besides the Tower Teams, what challenges is everyone doing in the next few months?"

I'm doing the Twelve Towers Challenge in this group, a quarterly challenge in Urban Fantasy Aficionados (and I think a monthly, too), and I do the main monthly and a mini cover challenge for Paranormal Kickass Chicks every month (I just restarted doing these a month ago).

Jen (reader44ever) | 2930 comments Monica wrote: "I am doing this one and a few in AMMP plus a bingo game SOS."

I've never done book bingo, but it sounds like fun. One of these days... ;-)

message 130: by K~Terror (new)

K~Terror (k-terror) | 5600 comments **waves** Sallie!

The two bigger ones I'm doing is this one and the winter wonderland challenge that starts 11/1. The other one has arms and legs though with a few different team challenges interwoven.

I heard TCF SS challenge sign ups are coming soon too!

How's the bingo one Monica? I've joined that group but really haven't been very active there yet..

message 131: by Monica (new)

Monica (nutz4reading) I love the bingo but I'm behind on my books. Bingo does make me pick books I have been putting off for awhile. And I find new series each game.

message 132: by K~Terror (new)

K~Terror (k-terror) | 5600 comments Is it like one book a week?

message 133: by Delta (new)

Delta (sicname) I haven't done a bingo challenge yet. They look like they could be fun.

Jo-Jo | 686 comments Sorry to hear about your FIL Carmen..I hope things are getting better there and that the doctors can find out what is going on.

message 135: by Jo-Jo (last edited Oct 27, 2015 01:38PM) (new)

Jo-Jo | 686 comments Delta- the only other challenge I am working on is a Bookshelf Bingo challenge in the group SOS:Serious Overload of Series...it is actually the very first challenge I ever started and it has been fun so far. A team should be getting Bingo soon though because we started in August with one shelf called a week and we have to get one of 3 specific patterns to call Bingo...each consist of 8 squares plus the free space. You might like trying one sometime!

message 136: by Jo-Jo (new)

Jo-Jo | 686 comments Jen- YES, I definitely find myself trying to push myself to read more when a challenge like this one starts, lol. Funny how that happens, but it does! I just want to try my best to contribute to the team effort.

message 137: by Jo-Jo (last edited Oct 27, 2015 01:34PM) (new)

Jo-Jo | 686 comments Lol Monica- just realized you are doing the same Bingo challenge as I am. I also got behind on books for a couple of weeks because a few things came up- life happens sometimes(what am I talking about? It happens all the time!) -but I finally got caught up last week. I am still trying to get this week's book finished by tomorrow, lol. Good luck, and hope you can get caught up soon!

message 138: by Jo-Jo (new)

Jo-Jo | 686 comments Oh! I have never heard of AMMP...the Winter Challenge sounds like fun! I don't have any challenges for winter yet so that could be perfect. Can anyone sign up/join? I would love to do it...or are sign ups over already?

Sorry for so many individual messages but I felt like breaking them up might be better than doing one big long one

Jo-Jo | 686 comments Okay, I have gone and done it now, lol. I've joined AMMP and signed up for the Winter Wonderland challenge.

Wow, I had no idea there was an Amazing Race type challenge on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ...that sounds fun! I might check that out after finishing the challenges I'm in now. Lol, I think I am getting addicted!

lol Joanne. Good luck and have fun! I don't think I should join any more challenges. The five (I think it's five) challenges I'm doing now, some monthlies and some quarterlies and two longer ones, are already too many for me, as I've been bad at updating at least one (two? maybe three) of them. :'(

But challenges sure are fun and addicting! THAT I'll agree to! :-)

message 142: by Monica (new)

Monica (nutz4reading) K-Terror the bingo I am doing is one book a week. I have been behind for a while. Trying to finish a book this week and possibly more.

message 143: by Delta (new)

Delta (sicname) I didn't sign up for a group challenge, but I decided to do some non-fiction bingo starting next year. I have one card to finish each month. This way I will read more non-fiction and less of this junk fiction I've been reading lately.

Joanne, I'm so glad you're joining the Winter Expedition! You even got sorted into Schnee with me!!

Is that nonfiction bingo something you're doing outside of Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ? It sounds like a fun challenge. I'd be interested in doing it, too.

☼♎ Carmen the Bootyshaker Temptress ☼♎ | 7238 comments Hi everybody. Thanks ladies for the well wishes.

As for challenges, I do a lot of challenges. I'm in quite a few monthly ones in different groups and I did join the AMMP Winter Wonderland too. It looks fun and I can't resist plus it runs from Nov to the end of Jan so that isn't too bad. I'm in a few quarterly ones too and in the SOS Bingo too. I'm a few books behind too but it isn't so bad if you have the time to read a book a week. I'm in a lot of challenges in each of my groups like I said I'm an addict LOL but since I've been doing the night shift at the hospital with my FIL it gives me time to read while listening to the constant beeping of the machine. I just hope they can figure out what is causing his infection and he gets better soon because I feel my own body getting tired. Since I haven't been getting that much sleep during the day with the constant phone calls with people wanting information that we don't have.

I see we are getting close and TT will begin. I'm sure your getting antsy Jen but soon all the fun will begin Yah!

Ok I'll catch up later ladies. I'm off to the hospital.

message 146: by Delta (new)

Delta (sicname) Jen, I took the idea from here, but I'm doing the challenge on my own challenge page.

Carmen, I hope you FIL gets better. Make sure you are taking care of yourself as well. My aunt was in the hospital with a staph infection and my mom got such a bad sinus infection from staying in the same room as her that she had to be admitted to the emergency room.

lol Carmen. Yes, antsy is definitely how I'm feeling, but I've been a wee bit calmer since I wrote that starter plan over in PKC. I don't have it on the plan, but in my head I see the dividing line between before-books and after-books. And it helps. ;-)

I agree with Delta, too. Make sure you're taking care of yourself. It won't do your FIL any good if you get sick, too. Still no answers, though? What's your FIL's first name? I'll say a prayer for him.
