You had finished Week 44! You read a book waiting for you on your shelves.

This discussion thread is solely for your progress. (Book discussions go in individual threads.)

Which book did you read?

Did you enjoy it?

Did you "buy" this book in 2015 or before?

Is there another title waiting on your shelves since a long time?

Jean Cole (joc724) | 115 comments Which book did you read?
A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hossein

Did you enjoy it? Yes.

Did you "buy" this book in 2015 or before?
It wasn't really "waiting" on my shelf for very long. My sister gave it to me for my birthday so I read it for this category.

Is there another title waiting on your shelves since a long time? Oh yes. From where I'm sitting I can see The Kitchen House, The Shack, and Bruce, a biography of Bruce Springsteen.

Francesca | 391 comments Which book did you read?
Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?

Did you enjoy it?
Yes!

Did you "buy" this book in 2015 or before?
Before. I bought it over 2 years ago and kept meaning to read it but it just kept getting pushed behind other books. I'm glad I finally read it though.

Is there another title waiting on your shelves since a long time?
Yes, including but certainly not limited to: The Woman in White , The Empire of Darkness , and A Storm of Swords: Steel and Snow.

Michelle (mich2689) | 122 comments Which book did you read? The Name of the Wind

Did you enjoy it? Absolutely!

Did you "buy" this book in 2015 or before? In 2015. I guess I haven't had it for a long time.

Is there another title waiting on your shelves since a long time? So many! I couldn't name them all here. The Magicians trilogy. Lots of works by Murakami.

Silvia Turcios | 304 comments Which book did you read? The Maze Runner by James Dashner

Did you enjoy it? Yes, a lot!

Did you "buy" this book in 2015 or before? I bought it in 2014, I thought reading it before to see the movie, but I didn't :P

Is there another title waiting on your shelves since a long time? Unfortunately, many! My problem is that first I am reading the books from the library and then mine ... but I always came from the library with more books than the ones I return, then I never get to catch up with mine and I continue buying books! :(

Jody (jodybell) | 531 comments Which book did you read? Great Expectations

Did you enjoy it? I really enjoyed it - far more than I'd expected (see what I did there?). It was surprisingly hilarious! The characters were fantastic, and the book itself was really interesting. I found myself very affected by the ending.

Did you "buy" this book in 2015 or before? Many years ago!

Is there another title waiting on your shelves since a long time? I could build myself a little fort with the books waiting on my shelf for me to read!

We read this for a book club last year, and it is the one book that EVERYONE loved. I am about 300 pages into book two, but it frightens me that Rotfuss is taking so long to publish book three. I don't want to catch up and be stuck.

Same here. I hope the third books gets published sometime in 2016 or 2017 the latest.

¶Ù²¹²Ô²¹Ã« | 30 comments Which book did you read? Dracula by Bram Stoker. I listened to an audio version read by Alan Cumming, Tim Curry, and a full cast.

Did you enjoy it? Very much! It was one of those I thought I should read someday, but I wasn't too keen on it until I heard it described as a technothriller of the times. There's a lot of talk of the fancy technology of the period in it. Typewriters and short hand, phonographs, blood transfusions, and more. I'm not a big vampire/horror fan so reading it with that in mind, made it more interesting to me.

Did you "buy" this book in 2015 or before? The audiobook was a freebie from 2014, but I've had a hardcover copy forever.

Is there another title waiting on your shelves since a long time? Oh yes, lots of them.

Anybody Out There? by Marian Keyes

Did you enjoy it?
Very much! I really like Marian Keyes and her way of writing, and this one was no disappointment.

Did you "buy" this book in 2015 or before?
I bought in 2014 or maybe even earlier

Is there another title waiting on your shelves since a long time?
Ohh, just a few *cough*

EllenZReads Which book did you read?

I finished Metropolis.

Did you enjoy it?

Somewhat...I found the historical angle (takes place in late 19th century, descriptions of the building of the Brooklyn Bridge and of Barnum's Circus, etc) really interesting but I didn't care for the characters or the general plot (or subplots--there were several, and it was hard to keep track of what was happening).

Did you "buy" this book in 2015 or before?

My aunt actually lent me this book when I was visiting her about a year and a half ago (May 2014?). I started it, felt it was a little slow, and put it aside...for 18 months.

Is there another title waiting on your shelves since a long time?

Yep...I have several books I've started and not finished, or purchased and haven't started! I have a very long "to-read" list!

I've been listening to audiobooks in the car lately...I will have to check this one out--I'd love to hear Alan Cumming and Tim Curry reading it!

I listened to this book on audiotape (Mindy read it herself). I was cracking up in my car!

Samantha | 122 comments Which book did you read? Take a Look at Me Now by Miranda Dickinson

Did you enjoy it? Mostly - the middle was slow, the story just seemed to be repeating and not progressing.

Did you "buy" this book in 2015 or before? It had been on my list for awhile and was on sale so bought it a few months back.

Is there another title waiting on your shelves since a long time? I have several.

Which book did you read? The Neverending Story

Did you enjoy it? Yes and no. I'll say I enjoyed the book building and the world building but not the adventures and characters.

Did you "buy" this book in 2015 or before? Yes, in 2015 when I discovered the gorgeous french edition (I read the book with the real cover and drawings at the beginning of each chapter and little dragons around the page numbers).

Is there another title waiting on your shelves since a long time? 4-5 books (from 2015). I tried to fit some in my 2016 challenge :)
