2016 is just around the corner!

Are there any books you have been eagerly awaiting?

What books will be the 'next big thing' in 2016?

The The Queen of the Tearling series has such polarised reviews that I'm not sure if it is for me. Are there any books you would compare it to, to give me an idea of what it is like?

message 5: by [deleted user] (last edited Nov 05, 2015 02:10PM) (new)

Amulet, Vol. 1: The Stonekeeper and A Darker Shade of Magic. It is very slow and I thought it was okay, but the sequel The Invasion of the Tearling was one of the best books I've read this year.

And Untitled and of course A Gathering Of Shadows. I keep thinking it is called A Revolutionary Order Of Something.

I think I've loaded up my reading time over the next few months, but I should try and get to that first one

I simply love this series. Have read up to book 35, not sure of the number but up to the book New York to Dallas and enjoyed the whole progression of the characters throughout this series. I was supposed to be reading the entire series again this year but have managed only a few, so hopefully will get to it soon and get myself updated till the latest before the next one comes in! I think you will enjoy it Karen! It's a fun series and the main character is someone I quite like! :)

I started this one a couple of months ago without even realising it was a trilogy. I thought it was a duology! LOL! However, it is on my temporary shelved shelf, hope to get to it soon! Quite an interesting story. :)

Hahahaha.. I hope so too! Of course, I have just finished the first book. My aim is to beat George RR Martin in his game by reading one book every four years so that I can fit perfectly to his schedule! ;) :P

That works for me as I'm yet to get to book 2!
I didn't realise it was more than a trilogy. How many books are going to be in the series, do you know?

message 42: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Karen wrote: "I've wondered about Mercy Thompson. What do you think Sonia, is it for me?"

Well... I think you should try it, at least. Book one is not the best of the bunch, and Mercy doesn't appear as strong as she turns out to be. It has some hints of a love triangle, but is not as sappy as you can't handle it. And the werewolf world is AMAZING.

Of course, I read it before I did Kate... which helped... the beast lord's ruling is a bit hard to compete.

I prefer the spinnoff myself... maybe because is based on the Marrock's pack (the ruler of the werewolves) so, the events on that one impact the whole world building.

I read the books after the second one came out because that was when I heard about them. I swore I would wait too, however I have a love hate relationship with books and cliffhangers. I love reading them and then get mad when I come to the cliffhanger.
