There is no genre filtering.

If you are only willing to review your own preferred genres then sorry, but you’re better off finding a group that specialises in your preference, or joining one of the 18+ rounds or a ‘clean� review round. In this general group you might be asked to review fiction/non-fiction, adults�/children’s books, a religious text, BDSM, or anything in between. Allocation is entirely random and there will NOT be any rearranging of the listing to accommodate genre preference. The ONLY circumstance in which you may duck out of giving a review is if YOU provide a stand-in reviewer.

Let’s be honest here � we don’t all like the same things but we all want reviews. The only way this group can function is if we trust each other to behave honourably. And it IS perfectly possible to give a fair-minded review of a text that does not coincide with our normal choice of reading matter. If you need a few hints/tips, please see this thread:

We don't usually get requests to join a group from someone who isn't an author, but I don't see why not as long as you make your profile public so everyone can see your reviews.

I've kept you two completely apart. There is one spot in every group where two members don't interact. But unless those two people are in the first two or three to sign up, its almost impossible to fit everyone else in around them.
Its the price some of us pay for being such prolific reviewers.

Please remember the commitment you are making to your fellow group members. To exchange book files, my advice is to use PM to give email addresses to each other (save the chance of spammers getting your addies from this open forum). I'll stay with you until your mod takes over as your group moderator. Happy reviewing, everyone :)

Here's a rookie question: how do I use PM? ;->

Click on the author's icon to go to their page. Underneath you'll see a follow author button, to the side of it is a drop down menu, including 'send message'.

Friending people can also be helpful to start building up contacts, but not everyone appreciates it, so don't be offended if people don't accept requests.

Hello, everyone; this is Mike the Mod. I'm the moderator for this round, and will take over from Emma from now on. I will be tracking progress and trying to keep the group on schedule. But I am also here to help with any queries or problems you may have.

As Emma says, reviews should be posted on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ, Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk. You can help me a lot by posting the links to all three reviews at once, and by giving the links to the review, not the book. Both Amazons will send you the links to the review when they have posted it.

I recognise several of the names in the group and I know that some of you have a lot of experience reviewing. But if you do want some useful advice, there is a nice piece by one of the group's former moderators, Jay, called What is a review and how to I write one? It's here: /topic/show/...

If anyone slips behind on their reviews, they will get a polite private note from me asking how they're doing. There is sometimes a good reason why people fall behind (family crises, illness, alien abduction, dead laptop) but try and let me know if you need more time.

Oh, Mike, sorry I'm piping in as well. I'm scheduled to read and review Benjamin's book, but he has read and reviewed a book from me, and just recently. I don't mind reading and reviewing his book, unless it's a rule not to do so.

Okay, so we'll just sit tight and wait until the list is arranged? I've already been sent an ARC by Darrell, but if he's not on my to read and review list once the list is arranged, I'll just delete it.

Emma says she will take a look tomorrow, so, yes, old off everyhone in case the running order changes. In the meantime can everyone please double-check the list of books they have to review, and ensure that there are no clashes.

Remember, it's OK to review an author you have reviewed before, provided it's not the same book. What is not OK is to review an author who has reviewed you.

The only person who has reviewed me, is Benjamin.

Picture me sitting in a corner with my arms over my head waiting for someone else to mention there's a clash.
