Elena | 87 comments Hi,

I'm looking for some good mysteries since I've read most of the Agatha Christie mysteries (sob), lol. Does anyone know if Ruth Rendell is clean? Any other suggestions, by the way? My favorite mysteries are ones set in the past: 1950s and earlier. Thanks!

Carolyn | 13 comments I have heard really good things about the Maisie Dobbs series, which is clean. Starts around WWI.

Ellen | 4 comments I have read about 9 of the Maisie Dobbs series books, and quite enjoy them. Yes, they are clean reads. Not as fast moving as some other books, but, I enjoy the insight into the time during and between the world wars. I also appreciate that every happening can contain a clue, that I might have missed. I read them as my 'calming' influence, when my life is hectic. Give them a try!
