I had already read many of these but I find myself reading more since I joined the group. The group members who write reviews are a big help in making selections to read. Happy reading!

I agree with both of you! You're so right, Kyle, this group helped me check off quite of few of the (already few) that I read. And, Connie, I do love the reviews by this group's members. Bob and Kat are particularly good at that.

Only 5. Hehe, a beginner! I'm late to classics, so most of them are in still on my TBR.

I consider myself quite well-read - but I've only read 21 of these! Many are on my shelf, but many I've never even heard of!

I'm just a beginner..only 6! Looking forward to reading many of these in this group.

I got 37 out of 155 with many either reads or rereads in the last two years. Many of the others are on my TBR list.

I got 46/155. There's also another one (Pippi) I *might* have read to my kids when they were younger, but I don't remember for sure.

49/155. Not too great but not too bad. i am probably older than most of you so i have less time to catch up!

Quite an embarrassing number by my standards: 15/155. Luckily, I own some of these books, so they are there for when I'm ready to pick them up.

Just a 20/155, quite embarrassing to me. The good thing is I know most of the books and they have always been in my to-read list. But all those guilty pleasures of mine take so much time. And there are also those books I think I've read, but I just can't tell anything about them, so it's as if I didn't have.

I'm glad you liked it. I thought it was interesting because it seemed to have some different books than the usual lists have.

I got 30/155...The sun of my reading is still rising on the horizon. At least I will not skate thin on my to-be-read list any time soon. >.>;

A fair few of the books on that list can be found free online or at the local library, so it should not be too taxing to get my hands on them- finding time to read them all might be another animal altogether, however. >_< Speaking of online classics, while ŷ������ has a nice selection of ebooks, another website fellow bookworms might find useful is:

Did I mention the 100 books to read before you die list? I'm over 60 and that scared me half to death! Knocked off 76 in 2 years - that's what brought me to ŷ������ and the rest of you!

Can one count other books read by the same authors mentioned in the quiz?

I got 20/155, but like others here. Lots of those books from the quiz are in my to be read list, but I'm making so slow progress that I can't believe it either.

21. The lower number does not bother me as much as the fact that a large number of books on the list that I have never even heard of! Do I get extra credit for having read some of the books twice? :)

I didnt tick. Just scanned the list and knew I would be between 10 & 15. But not disappointed. Many in the list are in my wishlist. And joining this group was the main reason so that I could make myself read more.

22/155, currently reading two, and five more on my tbr for this year.

I put this list on a spread sheet and checked the date published and the number of pages listed on ŷ������. Some of these books seem to be obscure and little-known. As with all lists I always question “who made up the list��? What are the criteria used to make selections? Are they biased toward any social or political agenda?

Only 5 - I have not read very much at all

47 for me, but would have been in the mid 20's if I'd taken the test a few years ago before joining ŷ������.

This is one of the reasons I like 1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die. Each entry comes with a quick explanation of why it was considered worthy of being included.

It said, "You checked off 68 out of 155 on this list! Woah, you’re basically a professional reader." Actually I'm a professional librarian and chronologically gifted enough to have gotten this far. So many books, so little time!

34/155. I don't think this is really accurate to how well read I am. I've read a LOT of classic literature that isn't on the list. Also, I've read lesser known/less popular works of certain authors on the list, but not the titles listed. Additionally, I don't think the Ramayana and Mahabaratha should count--they're texts of my religion. Likewise, I'd never count the Bible, Torah, or Qu'ran as classics on my reading list, mainly because I'm uncomfortable equating ANY religion's texts as fiction.

I am reading more now because i have more time with kids grown up and only working part time. Reading IS time consuming and contrary to what people think, audio books COUNT! Love the speech of the narrators and it provides them with employment. Also agree that these lists do not include many, worthwhile works. Bias!

Guess it's a good thing, I joined this book club and many others. Guess I am not as well read as I thought.

There were books I'd never even heard of.

Interesting list. I can think of a few that should be included. I got 20/155, which makes me a newbie. This is what comes of wasting your youth on science fiction and fantasy. :-)

27/155. So many must-read lists. Not enough free time. Oh well.

25/155, while I do think I've read more books than to get an "almost there" :P I did like this list as a guideline. To me, it actually had divercity (to an extent), both in genre, time, country and gender. :)
