Nice, Isabel! Also, welcome to you :)

It is a pretty interesting list, I agree, gems :)

Just think of all the people you envy you that first read ;)

message 56: by Greg (new)

Greg | 940 comments 73/155, but it's been years since I read some of them. Unfortunately I definitely don't have a photographic memory. A good time for some re-reads.

message 57: by MK (new)

MK (wisny) | 2579 comments It surprised me how much I've forgotten from some of the books I read so long ago, Greg. I mean, I guess it shouldn't be surprising! But it still is

message 58: by Greg (new)

Greg | 940 comments I know what you mean MK. I have to "refresh" re-read books every 10 years or so. Once I've read them 3 times, I remember them well - that seems to be the magic number for my infamously bad memory. :)

message 60: by Karen (new)

Karen Williams 65 for me. This is a different list than most I have seen. Some good ideas for my to-read list.

message 61: by [deleted user] (new)

I have either read or physically own 75 on the list. I also reread. Rebecca and Wuthering Heights are personal favorites.

message 62: by Kat (new)

Kat 15 for me. Loads of books on that list I have never heard of. I still consider myself well-read, there are hundreds of books not on this list, especially if you include non-english literature.

message 63: by [deleted user] (new)

You checked off 27 out of 155 on this list!

"You need to find a cozy nook and snuggle up with some more of this list. Or maybe this isn’t your kind of thing. Which is cool too."

you are right!!! very well said, thank you :D

message 65: by Liz (new)

Liz (busy91) 23 / 155

I'm hoping by the end of this year, this will be higher.

message 66: by Joana (new)

Joana Monteiro (joanamonteiiro) | 1 comments 7/155, I'm kind of a loser oops
There's a lot of books there that I have been wanting to read for a long time now but haven't got around to do it yet. oh well

message 67: by Hjpalmer3 (new)

Hjpalmer3 | 3 comments 30/155 Will have to go back and check some of these out, though I could make a few suggestions for additions to this list!

message 68: by Christine (new)

Christine | 971 comments Looks like I've read 11 of these books in the past 11 months (since I last took the quiz). Making progress!

message 69: by Duane (new)

Duane Parker (tduaneparkeryahoocom) 53/155. I read mostly classics which helps on a list like this.

message 70: by Pink (new)

Pink | 5491 comments Only 29 for me. There's lots on the list I want to read, but equally quite a lot that I know I'll never try!

I'm now at 29/155, I've added 7 since last year.

message 72: by Melanti (new)

Melanti | 1894 comments I'm currently at 55/155. So I've added 8 since last year.

message 73: by April (new)

April Munday | 276 comments Only 33. It seems a rather bizarre list and I hadn't even heard of a lot of them. Still, some of them are sitting in the bookcase waiting to be read.

message 74: by Kim (new)

Kim | 174 comments Only 16! Counting War & Peace, which I'm currently reading. Ah, well... :)

message 75: by Bat-Cat (new)

Bat-Cat | 986 comments What a great list - I have 34 but after this year it should look much better.

message 76: by Kathleen (new)

Kathleen | 5340 comments 38 for me--better than I've done on some of the other lists. Several that I just read this year, so I think yes! Then I see so many more that I want to read ... It really is a never-ending goal, isn't it!

Yes, I'm afraid so Kathleen. But a never-ending goal that is a joy to keep working at. 😎

That's great Pink! :)

message 81: by Laurie (new)

Laurie | 1884 comments I've read 52, but there are quite a few that I hope to read someday. And like everyone else there were several that I have never heard of, 16 that I counted.

message 82: by Phil (new)

Phil J | 621 comments 60/155 "Avid Reader." Seems fair. I was glad to see some of my favorite under-discussed books on here. I also appreciated the number of books from outside US/UK, which was larger than these lists typically include.

message 83: by April (new)

April Munday | 276 comments Still 33 this year. Must try harder.

message 84: by Bat-Cat (new)

Bat-Cat | 986 comments I have a long way to go too - 35!!!

message 85: by Kaleb (new)

Kaleb McDermid-mcGinn | 1 comments If being "well read" is measured on page number then I think my 2 novels have a good chance as I've read over 2000 pages :)

message 86: by Jon (new)

Jon (jonpill) | 93 comments Interesting list, there were a couple of authors, especially the non-Western ones who I might not have come across otherwise.

Liz (busy91) Liz wrote: "23 / 155

19 months later since I first posted, I am at 24 / 155.
Well...it did get higher.
It's sad too. I own many of the books on the list.

Hey, but you do have more read now!

message 89: by Yvette (new)

Yvette | 3 comments I've read 37/155. Lots of great titles to add to my TBR list. If only I had more time to read.

message 90: by Duane (new)

Duane Parker (tduaneparkeryahoocom) 59/155. All I need is another book list to work on. But they are handy to find great books to read.

message 91: by Karen (new)

Karen Ireland (book-vixen) I am not suprise :-) a lot of reading ahead of me cannot wait

How Well-Read Are You?

You checked off 10 out of 155 on this list!
You’re a beginner, and that’s OK. Hopefully you’ll find something here that suits you. If not, the wonderful world of books has many more works to tempt you.

message 92: by Squire (new)

Squire (srboone) | 281 comments 55/155. Pretty good, I suppose.

message 93: by Terris (new)

Terris | 4238 comments I'm right behind you at 54 with several coming up very soon on my TBR list!

message 94: by Squire (new)

Squire (srboone) | 281 comments There weren't that many on the list that were on my tbr. If I counted the ones on my tbr, I'd still have less than 65. But a few sounded interesting, most I'd never heard of.

I understand -- many I hadn't heard of either.

message 96: by Cindy (new)

Cindy | 52 comments Who makes up these lists? I only scored 22. A lot of authors I have never heard of. My number is low because my favorite authors are not on the list, H.G Wells, no Sherlock Holmes or Jules Verne.

message 97: by Matt (last edited Jan 27, 2017 03:50AM) (new)

Matt Carl (pressenter) 25 for me. Even though I was an English major in college, these sort of lists are always pretty hit or miss.

message 98: by Bob, Short Story Classics (new)

Bob | 4565 comments Mod
I enjoy looking over various lists, but I give no credence to their objectiveness. I have always been puzzled by how a list can neglect so many well renowned authors by not listing a single book, while allowing other authors two or more books. So am I well read? Some lists say no, some lists say yes, while others lists, just shrug and say, bless his heart he’s trying.
