Just 1/4 of the way through awaiting Justine's trial and starting to dislike Frankenstein as a person. Is he a coward? I so hope he steps up!

I hear you George! On the last chapter and more annoyed than feeling sorry for him because of his self absorbed take on the murders... I don't feel he truly blames himself, it's all the monsters fault. Do you think it was intentional for the readers to feel this way? That refusing to face responsibility and try to rectify your wrong doings was a moral horror in the story too? Despite disliking the frankensteins creator (and I'm sure like everyone else knowing the story before I read the book) I'm still enjoying the tale. For a young girl Mary was very dark :-)

Like so many people, I have never actually sat down and read the entire Frakenstein in the original. Must do that! Do you think that the fact it was written by a woman is significant?
