Hi everyone,

What challenges do you want to see on PR next year. Which ones did you think worked and which were too difficult to complete.

Kimberly (kimberly_3238) | 600 comments I'm new to PR this year, and didn't have any "challenges" this year. I'm looking for some suggestions! :)

The A-Z one is always good. You should check out the challenges folder for some ideas. :)

Yes, A-Z is my favorite challenge! The Bram Stoker challenge was kind of cool, too.

Kimberly (kimberly_3238) | 600 comments A-Z looks great! (I was worried about the "Q" and "X", until I saw it just had to be IN the title. Also the Bram Stoker one...I was looking at the list posted for before, and was shocked at how few I've read!

For myself, the "new authors" would be too easy since I do the NetGalley reviews and for HorrorAfterDark..... not much of a challenge in my case. But I'd definitely be up for either (or both) of the other ones there.

For the past two years I've been able to find Q and X titles, but I think its enough that the letter is in the title, no big deal.

Maybe a series challenge. 'First in a series', 'next in a series' or something like that?

We could also do an A-Z Author's Name Challenge as well...

RachelvlehcaR (charminggirl) | 299 comments The Sub-genre was a tough one. I'm three short for the year. I would have been able to do it if I just focused on it. Not bad to be 3 books shy of completing the challenge.

One my 2016 reading resolutions if to finish up (or up to date) series I've started. That would be interesting idea.

I didn't do to much on the Bram Stoker one. I would like to focus more on it.

I think something interesting for a challenge is to do a Literary Map on some "Horror" Authors. Just type in the authors name and see who has been influenced by him/her or is similar in styles.

Wow, Rachel, that Literature Map is very cool. You could do a challenge where you pick one author to start and sort of travel the path from author to author on the Map. I may do that just for fun! If we got a few people we could all start with the same author and then branch out and see where it takes us...

I have to go back and see if I finished the sub-genre list or not, I think I was a few behind as well.

The A-Z Title Challenge is funny because I always think, "it is only 26 books, no big deal right?" and then I get a good head start but then I realize that with buddy and group reads it is much harder than I thought to get all 26, especially specific letters.

I would like to finish up a few series I've started in the past couple of years. I caught up with the Charlie Parker series this year and it was very satisfying to get current with it. I would like to continue the Jim Butcher series and a couple others...

Kate, if you read this start a 2016 Challenges section. I'm itching to start my list already!

I've added a folder for our challenges and got the ball rolling with the A-Z challenge.
Feel free to add a few more challenges to the folder. :)

That's a great idea. All start off with one author and see where it leads us at the end of the year. Who should we start with as our first author?

I guess the hardest part would be figuring out where to start! I'll begin the Literature Map challenge thread. I like the idea of this challenge because it is pretty free in what books to choose, so I think it'll be easier than a set list.
