Zara's Retreat | 2365 comments Buddy reads are a good way for members to choose which books they would like to read and discuss with other members in the group. Beginning right now we are going to change up the Buddy Read section a bit to make it less limited!

Buddy Reads
This section is for all of our members who are interested in reading with a buddy or 2 or 3! All you have to do is:

1) Post which book you would like to read (Link or cover is fine).
2) Post the dates you intend to read the book (ex: Month of July, July 1 - July 15, etc.).
3) If you are interested in joining a nominated book, post which book you are interested in reading (Name and Link/Cover of Book).
4) I will create a thread for discussion of each of the Buddy Reads for the book and those interested.

Feel free to join in more than one buddy read at a time. In fact, it is highly encouraged. The more participation we have the more fun we'll have!

I have wanted to read it for years. However I'm looking for a specific version, and since I haven't found it yet I'm probably going for Anna Karenina later this year instead.

K sounds great :)

message 40: by Cassandra (new)

Cassandra | 5832 comments A few of us realized that we are all planning to read War and Peace sometime this year. It's a big book and would be great to discuss, but it'll probably need to span three months.

What months would we like to try this? I'm pretty open, as long as it's not January.

message 41: by Zara's Retreat (new)

Zara's Retreat | 2365 comments I was planning on scheduling War and Peace over 4 months due to the sheer size of the book if that helps people.

Grace MacLaine (gracemaclaine) Zara wrote: "I was planning on scheduling War and Peace over 4 months due to the sheer size of the book if that helps people."

I would be down to read War And Peace. Should we read the same translation? I'd preferWar and Peace this one, the new fancy translation.

This is on my TBR list! However, I think I'm full-up on January reads, and it's actually waitlisted at my library... if you're still interested, can we aim for February?
