It was a toss up between "The War That Saved My Life" and "Echo" but I think the first should get it just for being one of the most moving books I've ever read.

I agree. The Hired Girl should win a Printz.
I forgot about Circus Mirandus. It has a great shot at winning a Newbery.

I've read 42 books but you guys mention some I haven't read yet. Working on Full Cicada Moon right now. Going for Crenshaw next. I'm glad I'm not on the committee. :)
Just finished Crenshaw…between TWTSML and Crenshaw, I would have to go with TWTSML. Next on my "to read" list - The Thing about Jellyfish.
