Then, you just go back and edit the comment again to check off the tasks that you've completed each time you complete one. I don't think you can do either from the app.

Mary-ellen (missy666) | 545 comments I love the way these challenges get me to read books I wouldn't normally read. Also, I've managed to get around to a couple of my long-term 'to read' books which fit into some of the categories.

@Lauri I can totally relate to your OCD comment! I think I spend more time working out what to read for each category than I do reading. That's half the fun.

@Kristie I had the same experience last year. I got half way through the list and none of the categories left were grabbing me. Then Uni started and I completely stalled. I don't think I did any for about five months, then I realised some of the books I'd been reading fit and that got me going again.

I'm hopeless Kristie. I review the list every second day, move everything around and change half the books, only to change some of them back again later. I love it too! We must be born planners.

Hi Erin, I found this list for prequels. It's worth checking that they actually are prequels, as not all the goodreads lists are completely accurate.

/list/show/3...

I was thinking of waiting for the next Throne of Glass or Selection series books to come out and then reading one of the prequels already out that I might have missed, like the 0.5, 0.6 books in the series. Throne of Glass has them all in one book. I've read the latest books in these series already so I will have to wait for a new one in order to do a book and its prequel. City of Bones/Clockwork Princess, etc, would be another, but I've already read these. I'm also contemplating Wizard's First Rule by Terry Goodkind which has a prequel. There's always Star Wars ...

It is a tricky category, much harder than sequels. All the best with it Erin.

Kristie | 5905 comments Ok, Erin.... so, I noticed that you have Shadow and Bone on your TBR, which has prequels. One prequel for The Grisha series is The Witch of Duva, which can be found online for free .

I also noticed that you have read most of The Lunar Chronicles series, but not Winter. I didn't know if you planned to continue with the series, but there are some prequels for that series as well. I'm not sure how technical you want to get with the challenge (would you want to only read the prequel and book 1?), but you could read Glitches for free or The Little Android , if you sign up with Watpad. I thought Glitches was good. It tells the story of Cinder before Cinder. There is also a book of shorts for the story coming out this year called Stars Above.

There are a lot of series, some of which I haven't read, that fall into YA or fantasy genre that have prequels listed, as well. I'll link a few of the series here for you to check out.

The Selection series (as Mary-ellen suggested above)
The Iron Druid Chronicles
The Dresden Files
The Infernal Devices
Vampire Academy
The Maze Runner
Delirium
The Ender Quintet

Hope that helps!! Let us know what you end up choosing.

Kristie | 5905 comments Thanks for the link, Mary-ellen! There are some good suggestions there. You're right that you have to check though. Some people don't seem to know what a prequel is.

message 82: by Erin (new)

Erin Holy smokes! Thanks so much for all of that! I'll probably just pick stars above or the other lunar chronicles one! :)

Kristie | 5905 comments You're welcome, Erin! :)
