Here you can post your own reading goals. It can be anything from 25 - 200 books a year.

Start a new topic with your name and the amount of books you want to read.

Good luck!

message 2: by Lynn (new)

Lynn Zachariades (lynnz) Lynn at least 100 which averages to about 2 a week..

message 3: by Emma (new)

Emma (emmauk007) | 1081 comments Everything that I have downloaded recently which should take me FOREVER. I like to savour a book though and not be put under pressure to finish it. Books deserve that. ;-)

message 4: by [deleted user] (new)

Well, currently done 8 for this month, but some where my classic favorites again, but I'm aming for about 100

message 8: by [deleted user] (new)

Jip, and I hope to read in all my off time :)

message 9: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Smith Wow, 9 books... I'm so envious, I've only finished 1! Every now and then I want to quit my job and go back to working part time in a bookshop just so I can read more.

I'm contemplating sleeping less and reading more, and if you knew me you'd know my sleep time is sacred!

Lauren (Sugar & Snark) | 1262 comments Mod
Ah! If only it were that easy!

Lauren (Sugar & Snark) | 1262 comments Mod
I thought I had been a slacker so far this year, but now that I look back I have read 5 books so far. (Which is still pretty slack for me!)I'm aiming for 120 thats 10 a month which I think is totally do-able. I was going to say 150 but then I thought why put pressure on myself, once a slacker always a slacker!

Lauren (Sugar & Snark) | 1262 comments Mod
Anyway I think if you work at book shop you have to do things like stock take, and shelve packing! But hey this is a fantasy job right- so in my book shop Robert Pattinson is my co-worker and his sole duty is to feed me lindt chocolate! Hell for that deal I'll work for minimum wage!!

message 17: by Lu (new)

Lu | 12672 comments Mod
Biltong and Pringle feeding and its a deal! :P

message 18: by Denell (new)

Denell | 74 comments hehehe Id not mind the stock taking and shelve packing. Just like Lauren said..wish it paid better.

message 24: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Smith It's September and I'm on 47 books for the year. I'll set a modest goal for myself: 55 books in 2010.

message 25: by Lu (new)

Lu | 12672 comments Mod
You can do it :)

message 26: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (wellreadnovel) my goal is 100 books for the year, Im about half way there already.

message 27: by [deleted user] (new)

I think my goal is 100, and hey presto, I'm at 65 already... so I better start reading. But Exams are comming up, luckily ending in November, so I'll have time after that to relax and read

message 28: by Lu (new)

Lu | 12672 comments Mod
Sigh exams :(

message 29: by [deleted user] (new)

I know right! They mess up everything (cross face)

message 30: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Smith Sigh, if I was still studying English lit I could at least read novels for my exams/essays :(

message 31: by [deleted user] (new)

Hehe, that would be fun, but the book I had to read for my subject of English was The Great Gatsby, so I'm done...

reading a text book isnt as much fun, trust me :)
I'm currently reading about victimisation which is interesting (Criminology is my favorite subject) but I've got to get started with my Sociology and I'm not a great fan of the subject

message 32: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Smith I hated sociology.

I don't even have a textbook to read at the moment though, just articles.

message 33: by [deleted user] (new)

So do I, I hate sociology, and developmental studies oh and understanding African Languages... super boring but they are the subjects that I have to take, next year will be much better

message 34: by Claudia (new)

Claudia (claudiavstoomanybooks) | 1779 comments Ooh, I love reading challenges! My goal was to read 100 books and I'm on book 93 now. I also have exams through Oct-Nov, so I think I'll set a separate goal for December (last year's was 25 books and I barely made it with 23!). Now I just have to come up with a list and I'm set. =)

Lauren Smith That's awesome, we have loads of reading challenges here! You should check them out: http://www.goodreads.com/topic/group_...

At the moment we're also voting on themed reading challenges for 2011: http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/4...
All the info about the challenges is on the voting page :)
It looks like we might start in November though.

message 36: by Monique (new)

Monique (moniqueurbanisedgeek) I have a blog in which I set myself the goal of 100 books each year. It actually helps the process being able to write about it!

message 40: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Smith I've made it 52 books already, so I'll increase my goal to 60 books (and hopefully a few more reviews :)

well, to be honest, I've been working in one for the last 4 year while I studied and customers take up all your time... but access to books all year round is like being in heaven :)

message 42: by William (new)

William Guillum-scott | 5 comments I've just joined this group and can say I'm on book 13 for the year. Not quite as prolific as some of you here. To my redemption, however, I like my books juicy. The more pages, the better.
