dely | 5483 comments I'm doing the same challenge since a lot of years! I wanted to finish it in one year but I wasn't able to manage it.

Here's the link to my challenge if you want to give it a look: /topic/show/...

Will you open also here on Indian Readers a discussion for your challenge? I would like it so I can snoop in it and look for some good suggestions. Oh, please, do it!

Happy new year.

Wish you too a happy and prosperous NY, Vicky!
I would recommend Munshi Premchandji's 'Godaan'. I find the style of writing a lot like R.K.Narayan. He is from UP.
I would also recommend Gulshan Nanda's 'Kati Patang'. I enjoyed reading this novel and I'm of the view that it has one of the best characterisation. He is from Bihar.

Enjoy your reading! :)

It isn't difficult. Go in this folder: /topic/group... and click on "new topic".
In the same folder you can find the reading-progress or challenges of the other members of this group.
I hope my explanation was helpful!

Indrani Sen (iniya_books) | 966 comments Lovely challenge. I want to try this next year.

Here are some suggestions from me

Nagaland - When the River Sleeps - I am currently reading this book and enjoying it much
Uttarakhand - many of Ruskin Bond's writing is based in and around Dehradun
West Bengal - Those Days - if you are up for an epic read. The Hungry Tide also is super good
Punjab - Train to Pakistan
Rajasthan - Cuckold

Best of luck on your challenge. Looking forward to see what you would read.

Ashwin (shelf_amused) Hi, Vicky! I loved the idea behind this challenge and would definitely take it next year! :)

My roots trace back to Bihar and your challenge really got me curious. I wanted to search if there were any good works based in that part of the country ( specially in English ).

I would recommend you read 'a dance of death' by Manna Bahadur.
Here's her page - /book/show/1...

TBH i can't assure you how the story is but it has got decent ratings. Also, Times of India wrote an article on her work :

Well, hope it helps. :) Happy reading!

Ps: I checked out your blog and loved it. Good work! ^_^
