Majorie Abeleda (majorieabeleda) | 6 comments Last Monday, my professor asked me to give an activity to my classmates applying my presentation of SQ3R method. Earlier I was thinking about a topic that I would give to them and I had a hard time choosing one. So, I've decided, "Why not use Emma's speech about Gender Equality?" since I wanted them to know something about Feminism. I hope Emma wouldn't mind it. I really want them to have an idea about it since that our country seems like unaware that it is actually a thing. I didn't use that speech because I am a fan of Emma, but because I think that they can learn a lot from it and it is thought provoking. I know that they would end up questioning themselves, "Am I a Feminist?" and maybe next time, before they do something, they might consider thinking about the rules of feminism.

Majorie Abeleda (majorieabeleda) | 6 comments No, I'm also not great at public speaking, but if I had a chance to, I would.
I wanted to introduce Feminism to my friends, but it just seem that they are not that interested, like if I mention it to them, they are just going to ignore what I said and pretend that they didn't hear it. but still, I'll try my best to encourage them.

Kristin | 14 comments Good luck! I wouldn't go into it assuming that you're going to be ignored--Emma's speech is so articulate and thoughtful that I think it has the power to appeal to a wide group of people, and I bet your presentation will help your classmates think about it. Good luck!

Majorie Abeleda (majorieabeleda) | 6 comments Kodak, yeah that's what I told myself. I know that they will realize that Feminism can be a way to restore our faith in humanity, and it would also help us to make our world a better place.

Majorie Abeleda (majorieabeleda) | 6 comments Thank you, girls for your kind words.

Kristin, that's one of the reason why I used Emma's speech. It is like a wake up call that will help them to open their eyes so they could also spread or convince their family and friends.

I asked them if they knew about the speech and I got sad because they didn't even know that Emma is an UN ambassador.

Majorie Abeleda (majorieabeleda) | 6 comments Hey, the activity was done and I don't know how I'll feel about it. I am happy, but sad at the same time. I'm happy because my professor liked the idea of using Emma's speech, he asked me why did I used it and I told him that it's because most of us doesn't have any idea about Feminism. Then he asked one of my classmates, what is feminism, and my classmate just laughed, then my professor said, "That's what feminism is, for her." and that's why I'm a little bit sad.

Anyway, thank you so much for keeping me motivated, I don't know how the activity will turn out without your kind words. xxx
