With capable people working hard in order to achieve it. Not politicians and people who see it as a job, but people who understand something about human nature. But probably we won't completely get it even if things work properly, not in underdeveloped societies. They may need some more years. In developed ones, we will. But not without fighting. Real fighting. Not with bureaucracy and politics, but with social mobilization.

Why not with politics? Because they are not there in order to change things. Just to keep things the same way as now. Nowadays politics is an insult to anyone with half a brain.

Tadej Brunšek (tad3j) | 145 comments If we want to achieve the gender equality, we have to at least know good a male and female motives. A few years ago I come by with the most perfect and I believe the only theory, that explains how human think, the key that was left in psychology, I must say, this could be possible with this key. I will explain the background, but not everything, because the dimensions of theory are vast!

The theory is young but it is first theory that successfully eliminate dyslexia. Yes, totally eliminate! It is not yet widely known, but we expect that it would go viral, when first major psychologists try to use it.

The theory is called REI by first letters in the name of three minds, that we all people think with. They are Reason, Emotion and Instinct, and NO, they do not have the characteristics, that you think of them, when you read their name! This is the first mistake, that everyone makes. For now I will ask you, that you do not explain them after your knowing of the words. Those are only the names of the minds, that every human uses. Any bit of information our body perceives from its surroundings, whether it’s a word we hear, a picture we see, or a smell we notice, turns into data only when our brain processes the sensory perception. The brain can accept or reject and evaluate everything and turn it its own way. So every person unconsciously creates his or her own world from the first moment of his or her life and understands it as the only existing truth. But because we all live in our own worlds, we believe that all the other worlds are the same too and, even though we sense there are differences between us, it’s very difficult for us to imagine how extremely different our worlds really are. These differences and the inability to understand them are the source of all the problems we have in our relations with one another.

We were aware that our thoughts were created by conscious and unconscious processes. But that wasn’t enough to be able to understand the source of the fundamental differences between us. Up until now we haven’t realized that three independent systems operate in our brains, which differ strongly from one another in terms of their characteristics and functioning. Each one of them is a mind of its own and each wants to predominate. Even though they fight for control they can’t live without one another and, even though each is in charge of a different area, one of them can completely drown out the other two. The power ratio between them forms while we grow up, and this, in turn, defines our character for the rest of our lives. Any one of them can rule our world.
The following relations can exist between the minds:

One of them can occupy first place, and the other two are left with subordinate roles;
Two minds can occupy first place together, and only one remains in a subordinate position;
The power can be distributed according to the following key: most important, moderately important, and least important.
This way we get twelve different compositions, which represent the twelve human characters.

This link shows the table of 12 different options of minds that can develop in people:

Even just a quick glance at the table of characters shows that the first line shows characters dominated by Reason, the second by Emotion, and the third by Instinct. In addition, the last line includes the “paired characters, which have special features precisely because of their dual natures. Thus, similar characters can be connected into four groups with similar features.
The features of the most important mind in one’s character are simultaneously the predominant features of this character.
The minds are completely equal—none is better or worse than another and each has its advantages and disadvantages, although they adapt differently to different circumstances. Instinct performs best in times of scarcity, and Emotion is created for abundance. Reason is most effective in rapidly changing circumstances. Thus in specific circumstances an individual mind is more successful than the other two.

Instinct
Instinct is the oldest mind. His world is based on the various fears he associates with everything and every circumstance. He believes evil dominates over good in the world. His primary task is to protect, so his activity is directed towards identifying danger in the environment. His defense is to flee. Instinct is extremely cautious, suspicious, and usually pessimistic. His key motive is envy. He’s hard-working, conscientious, creative, and curious by nature. Instinct is reserved and the most emotional among the minds because he gets strongly attached to those close to him out of fear of losing them. He more often rules women.

Emotion
Emotion is the opposite of Instinct. He thinks in pictures, which he combines into mosaics and then connects into a whole. He believes good dominates over evil in life. His primary task is to identify others who are better adapted to the environment than he is. He’s extremely trusting, if not even gullible, and sees everything through rose-colored glasses. He yearns for new experiences, likes to travel, is sociable, and can be frivolous, lazy, careless, and irresponsible. He’s an excellent improviser and a born epicure. He must be the center of attention, so his behavior often resembles that of a child. He’s driven by competitiveness, and his defense is to attack. He more often rules men.

Reason
Reason is the youngest mind. He’s analytical and rational, which is why he seems deliberate, mature, and grown-up. He tends to anticipate and plan. Reason is the only mind we’re aware of and so we perceive him as consciousness. He controls words and numbers; he’s accurate and consistent, systematic, and calculating. He’s not creative and doesn’t feel sympathy. He’s driven by greed and rules men and women equally often.
We can’t identify our character on our own. The reason for this is hidden in the fact that we evaluate ourselves using our predominant mind, which always takes our own thinking as the starting point. It’s also hidden in the fact that in reality we have no real comparison with others because we again evaluate them according to our own mindsets. So each mind believes he’s rational, just, and right, which is why people make different decisions in the same circumstances.

Another problem in identifying characters lies in thought processes because different ones lead to the same result. Because we only see the results of people’s thinking, but not also how they reached these results, we all judge their actions in our own way. This is why we keep misunderstanding each other, but we’re usually not even aware of this.

Back to topic. If we want to achieve gender equality in 50 years, with the introduced theory, we have to know that 75% of people is today living in the world which is not oriented by their own motives. Meaning, the people can be only happy, satisfied and can live their lives fuller, if they get what their characters motive is. For example the Emotions want want attention, are always trying to be in the centre of happening, their world is only about theirselves. For Instincts it is right the right opposite. They enjoy in the loneliness, they keep themselves away from the people and they get attached to the closest ones. They always seek the safeness. But there is also the third mind, that is ruling todays world. This is Reason. We live in a world of laws, order, money, time and rules. Those are only Reason values. This means that if Emotion wants to be in the centre of the attention, he would probably need money, if Instincts want the safeness, he would need money. The combinations how Reason is predominating the Instinct (most women), and Emotion (most men) are probably infinite.

So with the hard inauguration of Reason rules, the Emotions and Instincts are left out. They obviously became unsatisfied with themselves, which then result in personal problems in friendship, between collegues, relationship and in the end in marriage and family.

The problem here is, that we have to, or better said, the problem is that people (every individual itself), have to change himself. Because of his own perception, 98% people of modern world, live in believe, that they live the same world as others. But this is actually not true. Everyone lives in his very own perception and believes, and because of the various motives of the characters, they cannot accept himself in this Reasons world. This world is coordinated by Reason values and Emotions and Instincts are having really hard challange to proof their self that they can be noticed by Reason.

If we stretch this a little bit, this means, even if we would have a universal formula, that everyone on this planet can become happy, that is not possible. Why? Because everyone is thinking on his own. And the second reason is that Reason who is the master of monetary system would not allow this, because the negativity of Emotions and Instincts are giving to him the power. If Emotions and Reasons are unsatisfied, two negative motives will prevail. The first is excessive competition between men, and more and more competing for new things, and envy, which is Instincts negative attribute and does not allow most of women to think, how they can do good and give good. If we would have a medicine for cancer, the Reason would not allowed it. Because Reasons system is so good established, that it does not need instant solutions, but rather something that will keep his motor (monetary economical system) spinning. We all know that if there would be something like free energy, cancer medicine or HIV antidote, this would save a lot of people and bring to Reason a looot less money than today.

So the equality between men and women is between all the 12 different thinking characters and his very own motives. Because there is a thin line which monetary system (Reason) crosses easily for Emotion and Instincts, they both think that money is their key to happiness. But this is only a lie. Emotions motive is to be "a star" to be in the centre, and to be famous with something, and the Instincts motive is also to be healthy, to have a family and to have a good relationship. Both those motives are today described with the help of money, but this cannot be achieved with the help of only money. The Instinct likes that can be with the loved ones, and Reason is taking him a valuable time with job, that he must go to, that he earns money for living. The Emotion likes to enjoy with others and show himself in the best way possible and, once again, Reason allow him this only with the money (that he must earn).

If we want to establish a equitable system between men and women, we have to establish an equitable system between characters. This means that in the long run, none of those three characters motives, will not prevail one over another. The system would be righteous only if we will represent all the motives of all the characters equally.

If you would have any questions, please let me know them! This is only a rough description on how people work and I can prove it that it works with the evidence of method that successfully eliminates dyslexia.

Tadej Brunšek (tad3j) | 145 comments The easy way how educational system (Reasons values) works is shown on this picture. Try to connect the dots with the above post and you'll see the whole picture.

Charlotte | 7 comments I think it should start by changing the law to make sure we don't have any gap in the salary. Moreover when I see that in some countries like India guys can escape sanctions when they rape women because this would be women's fault well equality seems to be very far. Same in Saudi Arabia where women don't even have the right to drive even if now they have the right to vote. Starting by changing the law could make a difference, then we have to work on education to change mentality and stop judging someone because of his/her gender!!!!

Jessica | 149 comments I think the best way to promote gender equality or really equality of any type is to treat everyone as equals. And if you choose to have kids, teach them your values. But in my opinion, treating someone as an equal doesn't mean that we aren't going to disagree, discourage, dislike, or disrespect someone on occasion. It does mean that when we do so, its not because of race, sex, creed, gender, or any other criteria. One of the most important lessons I learned from my mom is that in life we are going to have only a few close friends, everyone else is just acquaintances.
