I'll read it - been reading a lot in the past few months about the brain/mind
Proust and the Squid is about the history of reading and the affect of reading on the brain
fascinating
Last Winter read The Female Brain by a woman psychiatrist who discussed the hormone brain interaction from the womb on.
Looked at the interaction from various viewpoints.
I see more and more what was discussed in that book come up.
I found it just looking around at Barnes and Noble. I decided to read it because my youngest is a soon-to-be teenager and I wanted to be as prepared for the changes she would go through and the changes it would have on our relationship.
The book covers many areas and is a good fast informative read.
Why did you decide to read this specific book and when do you plan on reading it?

Booklist said, "A current, thorough, closely argued text... One of Siegel's major gifts is for presenting anatomical, neurological, research, and clinical information while still pointing out what remains unknown. He explores infant-parent relationships, emotions, states of mind, and how knowing about them can improve one's relationships and capabilities for developing successfully."
Siegel has since published other books, but this one is a baseline for the further developments, I think.

hopefully more responses will come but I plan on reading it as the books I mentioned were really interesting/illuminating and this 1 sounds the same.
