Hi Parnian,
Just so you know, most of the ideas you bring up in your third paragraph are not things that the moderators of OSS can help with. Those requests would need to be directed to the Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ website. We don't have control over the way the board functions or what features exist or are being considered as future additions.
And in case you hadn't seen them, there are conversations happening elsewhere on OSS regarding fandoms other than HP. For example, Twilight, Disney, Game of Thrones discussion happening in this thread, and more!
In general, we try not to censor the members of OSS, so as long as posts about HP or anything else are in the correct folder, are not duplicates, remain on topic, and don't break any community rules, we cannot control the discussion topics with which members are engaging.
Not to mention, even as recently as her interview with Gloria Steinem last week, Emma admits to identifying with Hermione ;) I think there is some worthwhile discussion to be had about women, feminism, gender, sexuality, etc. with the HP series and others, but that's just my personal opinion ;)
The search feature on the right hand side of the web browser is a good feature that will help you find your way back to threads you've lost track of. I'm usually able to find what I'm looking for with a few key words despite the size of this forum.
We're always working on organization, and part of our efforts are to encourage members to be mindful themselves by searching for topics before creating duplicate threads and posting things in the correct area.
Thank you for your input, we're definitely always looking for suggestions on how to improve everyone's experience here!

Thank you. I appreciate not being censored. Besides, people find their sources of empowerment in a wide variety of places, so naturally our topics are going to diverge.
Also, you can email support at goodreads dot com with suggestions for improving the operation of groups, or join the Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ Feedback Group (it's featured on the Groups homepage).

I'm also glad there is no content censorship going on. What would be the point of that?

I have a quick question, hopefully this is the correct forum. I've noticed that some discussions are labeled Jul/Aug or May/June without the year, and it's been a tad bit confusing. For example, since I am a newer member, I thought Hunger Makes Me A Modern Girl was the next book, until like a week later I realized it wasn't.
Could we change this to be May/June 2016 or 2017? Since months are repeating? I think it would really help with navigating the group.
Thanks,
Rachel

Back when we started in January 2016, we started with one book a month, but then realised going into the new year and 2017, that it's easier to do one book ever..."
So is Hunger Makes Me A Modern Girl the next book? I was having a similar issue with working this out since I thought that it had been the book for this time (ish) last year.

The new book is always announced by Emma, in the 'Announcements' folder. Which should be so..."
Ooh I thought so. That all makes sense! Thanks! :)

Hi Meelie,
Thanks for responding. But that's the issue is the Jul/Aug book is from 2016, so you cannot tell it's not 2017, And because there are still new posts it shows up in the announcements. Hence my confusion because there is an announcement from Emma saying there was a vote, but there's no date on the announcement...
And because text tone is hard to read, I mean this in a genuinely confused way, not snarky I promise.
Thank you again for your time,
Rachel

I think it may be easier to follow using a computer rather than phone or tablet, as the desktop site shows all the previous books read at the bottom o..."
Thank you!

Seriously tho this book has raised many threads and is so topical might be worth giving it a bit more time for contribution.
What do you all think another couple of weeks?

I agree! I think it's a good idea to maybe just extend the time a little bit for our new readers in Paris, but it is entirely up to Emma. Besides, I need to catch up as well because I just got my book a few days ago because I am a new member.

I am under no impression that organizing this group is easy. I imagine its management is a nightmare, and the whole process an ongoing experiment. I want to first commend everyone involved for bringing it thus far. I am, however, hopeful that we could provide some helpful feedback.
My first and most pleading request is to please please search for a better way to organize the group. There are way too many discussion topics, a number of them are duplicates, several are generally unrelated to feminism and browsing them is frustrating and confusing! I just found a wonderful thread on Blogs about Feminism, the app crashed, and I have no idea where to find it anymore! There must be a better way...
Other wish list items is being able to like a comment, mark for future reading, or create a link back to a thread you enjoyed reading about. More actively broadcasted announcements about new books or interviews would also be a huge plus. There are also a number of topics in different languages. Facebook offers a wonderful feature that translates everything to your base language so you can all talk without learning the other language. Seems a pity not to use something like that here so we can learn from our international peers.
The other feedback I have is about Hermione, Harry Potter and JKRowling. I'm a huge fan of the series, own half the props, have lost count on how many times I've read the books and watched the movies, and am still holding out that Hogwarts is real. But Emma has made huge huge strides in moving away from Hermione and becoming her own self. We should all do the same. Let go of Harry! His life is unrelated to this shared shelf! And keep JKR out of it. Why don't we talk about other authors or stories? Has anyone made a topic about John Snow? Just something to think about. I feel like topics not obviously related to feminist issues should be deleted.
Anyways I hope this is helpful. I don't mean to sound like I can do this better than anyone already involved, cause I most definitely can't. I just hope to provide helpful feedback as a user.
Cheers and thanks for hearing us out.
