Wow. Such an articulate and thoughtful expression of opinion! Sadly, I can't say that I've received any similar messages myself. Did you check any of the official GR discussions? And can we just call you A.C. for short?
I didn't check any official GR discussions. I figured it was just a troll, but the username is a bit of an odd thing.
You can totally call me, AC too. What's hilarious is that my surname isn't a million miles away from that in real life. That guy REALLY picked the wrong girl if he wanted to offend someone with "the c-word"!

Shit! That message was supposed to go to my grandma (Rubey). Just a playful way we have of talking to one another...

LOL everyone! Yes, Derek. From now on, my brother can be DC. (Although he's living in Britain, so technically he should be BC..)
And I've been designing jewellery & accessories, so maybe I'll make a new line of bags in pink...

I woke up this morning to two email notifications for direct messages that somebody named "Book" apparently sent me on GR. I am so glad I have email notifications switched on for private messages, or I would have missed these completely.
Now, leaving aside the matter of how somebody managed to nab themselves the username of "Book" on the world's largest book-related social media site, please keep in mind that I really haven't been logged in to GR very much recently. I certainly haven't done anything provocative, or removed anyone from the group, deleted any posts or even left a negative review. This is why the two messages I received were SO awesomely random..
The first message reads (and this is where it gets NSFW):
"You're a fucking Aussie cuntbag. s
tick your head up your ass and choke. bitch."
[Formatting has been left as is]
Amusingly, the GR form email goes on to say "Enjoy! - The GoodReads Team."
One minute later, a follow-up email was sent:
"Go run to the mods. don't give a shit."
Sadly, when I clicked on the account it had already been deleted. Clearly somebody did indeed, "run to the mods" (and wasn't that an Iron Maiden song..?)
Anyway, it does raise some interesting questions. Like, "What the?" and "Fuck?"
Anyone else had any awesome troll run-ins lately?
