No spoilers on this thread please.

Nancy this is a fantastic read - was a study text when i was at uni, and im tempted to re-read with you all again.

Sandy | 458 comments Nancy you should read it again with us! I'm reading it because it is the classic selection for June, and because I recently watched a modern version of Frankenstein (the movie) and wanted to compare it to the book. So far, I'm impressed with the writing style. I'll comment more as I continue.

Mike (nmpreach) I'm excited to read this classic with everyone! I had no idea of the background of why Shelley wrote...interesting!

My copy arrived yesterday (all 99p of it!)

Anna (justanna) | 145 comments Ooh I've had this on my shelf (well mostly in a moving box in the attic) since 1990!

I think it's time I read it ...

Very dusty shelf Anna!

I was looking at her bio on Wikipedia and found out that she is buried just down the road from me in Bournemouth

I hadn't appreciated that this book is exactly 200 years old this month.

Sandy | 458 comments I just finished. The book is different from the Frankenstein movies that I have watched. This is such a unique story for an eighteen year old woman from this time period to create.

Just seen this on the BBC website:

Jason (jasondenness) | 1877 comments Been up in the loft and got my copy. Read it when I was young and found it boring. Giving it another go now to see what I think of it now that I'm really old.

Paul I remember going to Bournemouth years ago to look for her grave, found it eventually, wasn't well sign posted.

Wendy I'm a bit late but just getting started with this one!

Jason (jasondenness) | 1877 comments Getting my books ready to take on holiday, gonna take this one for a re-read as I have the penguin clothbound version now. :-)
