Emma Jaye | 3695 comments This is a general group. In joining this group you have agreed TO REVIEW ANY ALLOCATED novella (under 45,000 words) within the set 8 week limit.
There is no genre filtering.

If you are only willing to review your own preferred genres then sorry, but you’re better off finding a group that specialises in your preference, or joining one of the 18+ rounds or a ‘clean review round. In this general group you might be asked to review fiction/non-fiction, adults/children’s books, a religious text, BDSM, or anything in between. Allocation is entirely random and there will NOT be any rearranging of the listing to accommodate genre preference. The ONLY circumstance in which you may duck out of giving a review is if YOU provide a stand-in reviewer.

Let’s be honest here we don’t all like the same things but we all want reviews. Please consider each book as an example of its genre and length. A novella or short story is not going to have the same length/complexity of story/character arc as a full length novel. The only way this group can function is if we trust each other to behave honourably. And it IS perfectly possible to give a fair-minded review of a text that does not coincide with our normal choice of reading matter. If you need a few hints/tips, please see this thread:
/topic/show/...

Do not sign up until you have completed all your reviews in another review round in the group.

Make sure you have an author profile set up before you join and that your book is available for sale on amazon (not pre-0rder).

Please let me know as you sign up if you have been reviewed by, or have reviewed another author in the group. It is permissible to review an author more than once if a different book is available, but reciprocal reviews within the group are strictly prohibited.

Ben Westerham | 21 comments Hi, I'm up for joining this group. Not taken part in one of these review groups before so no chance of clashing with prior reviews. My novella is a 15,000 word crime story 'Good Girl Gone Bad'.

Good Girl Gone Bad

Thanks, Ben.

L.N. Denison | 1004 comments Hi Emma, I know I have a book in the group 100D, which hasn't started yet. Would it be OK to put my my novella, Oscar into this group?

Let me know, and I will send the links later.

Thanks in advance,

The Ingenious Judge Dee
20,000 words. It's a play.

message 10: by Lynn (new)

Lynn Sheridan (lynnsheridan) | 28 comments Good day, I would be delighted to get involved in this review group. This would be my second group. I have been reviewed by Loralee before, no other conflicts so far.

I would like my dark fantasy, Valiant, Vol. 1: Damsel in Distress to be reviewed. It's about 7,500 words.

Lynn Sheridan (lynnsheridan) | 28 comments I can confirm that I did not write Harry Potter (sadly). Here is the actual link, hopefully.
/book/show/2...
And yes I would be happy for Loralee to review the second volume if need be.

Loralee, not problem. Its much better making that decision now than when the group in running.

I'd like to join. Is is allowable for the book to be a short book of poems? I have two published poetry books. Space to Dream includes 50 poems, and Canvas of Imagination includes 16 poems. I will include links to both.

I would appreciate reviews on one or both of them -- whatever best fits this round.

Thanks,

message 17: by Emma (last edited May 16, 2016 09:17AM) (new)

Emma Jaye | 3695 comments As long as the word count is under 45,000 words you can join Stacie, but I can't chose which book for you, you'll have to nominate one or the other.

Thanks Darrell, I'll add you in btw, that's quite a title!

Please remember the commitment you are making to your fellow group members. If you don’t think you can manage to do 4 book reviews between these dates please let me know now. I will find someone else for this group and you will be able to choose a later group that will be more suitable for you. If you pull out after the start date for any reason it is the other members who will be faced with the problem of finding a replacement, or missing out on reviews, through no fault of their own. Please don’t ask the moderators to chase after replacements as we just don’t have the time.

It is the responsibility of the author to get their book to their reviewer in a format the reviewer can manage. There are no set dates for the start of each round. You can each work at your own pace, within the limits of the round deadlines. All reviews must be posted by .

When you have posted your review on GR please post a link to your review in this thread.

All reviews must be posted to GR, Amazon .com and Amazon.co.uk.

Postings to any other sites are by agreement by both author and reviewer.

If I’ve missed something that results in you being asked to review someone who has already reviewed you, please let me know asap.

You have the next few days to exchange your book files. If you have not received your round one book in a few days, feel free to move on to the next. My advice is to use PM to give email addresses to each other (save the chance of spammers getting your addies from this open forum). I'll stay with you until Hock takes over as your group moderator. Happy reviewing, everyone :)

J.B. Trepagnier (jbtrepagnier) If you're reviewing mine, can you email me at [email protected] with the format you would prefer it in?

If I'm reviewing yours, can you send it to that email in any format? I can convert it and put it on my kindle

message 31: by L.N. (new)

L.N. Denison | 1004 comments Hi J.B, is your book on KU?

message 32: by Hock (new)

Hock Tjoa (hockgtjoa) | 946 comments Greetings everyone!

Briefly, the rules are -

1. The authors are responsibile for the delivery of their respective "books" to the reviewers. The usual formats are pdf, mobi/kindle, and epub. If anyone needs to convert the format of a book, a useful (free) method is to download Calibre and use it.

2. Reviews should be honest (e.g., you must have read the book) and civil. But your review does not have to be Positive (three stars or more). There should not be any discussion of the reviews on this thread.

3. Reviewers should avoid "spoilers."

4. Reviews should identify, with examples, what the reviewer liked or did not like about the book - the writing/language/style, plot, characters, etc. Errors, formatting issues, etc., should be commented upon in a helpful manner.

5. Reviewers are not obligated to provide a "critique" or edit of the book though everyone is encouraged to be as helpful as possible. Please communicate through the personal messaging function of Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ.

6. Reviews should be posted on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ, Amazon.com, and Amazon.co.uk. Links to those reviews should be posted in this group thread for our collective benefit.

The first round of reviews is due on June 4.

Go for it!
