Juanita (juanitav) | 744 comments Post your nomination for "a book that takes place in the summer here."

One nomination per member but you can change your nomination by editing your original post before the nomination process closes on June 8.

I will post a poll in next week's check-in thread to vote among all of the nominated books.

If you do not plan to participate in the group read, please don't participate in this process. It just stacks the decks against those who are trying to participate. Thanks!

Megan (mghrt06) | 546 comments I'm going to read Keeping the Moon just because it's been on my bookshelf for a while and I like to take paperbacks to the pool!

No hard feelings if no one else wants to read this book haha

Sara I understand Megan! I'm actually already starting my book for summer, My Friend Flicka, but I doubt it would be a popular choice. I just rememer absolutely LOVING the movie when I was a kid (that would be the 1943 version).

Depending on what book the group picks, I may read along anyway. My reading goal for the year is 75 books (I'm at 44) so I have lots of room for non-challenge books!

Anna (annaholla) Dandelion Wine!

Zoe (zoephare) I was planning on reading To Kill A Mockingbird for this topic (:

Rachel A. (abyssallibrarian) | 643 comments I'm planning on My Life Next Door for this category.

message 9: by Yana (new)

Yana Pogue | 11 comments I've had "A Hundred Summers" by Beatriz Williams on my Kindle for a while and have yet to read it. I thought it might be a good choice for this prompt.

message 10: by AF (new)

AF (slothlikeaf) | 398 comments I planned on reading Summer Sisters by Judy Blume, but there are some great ideas suggested already. I might have to change my mind based on what gets chosen for this challenge. I nominate Summer Sisters, though.

Alek TS | 27 comments For that I'll read Nicholas Sparks' The Notebook sequel The Wedding (The Notebook, #2) by Nicholas Sparks

message 12: by Nancy (new)

Nancy Carey (nancycarey) I read, Everything I Never Told You for this already but I also have Modern Lovers on my to- read list and it looks pretty good.

message 13: by Judith (new)

Judith | 11 comments For certain not for all of you: Mijn zomer met Kim Bokaviet by Silvia Toebak.
Written in Dutch and as far as I know not translated. May be there are more readers who are from the Netherlands or Belgium?
