To be quite honest I don't really know what to make of this book.
When I first saw the illustrated cover I was intrigued as the book looked really eerie and foreboding and thought the book would be a horror, the synopsis really doesn't give much away. Whilst reading the book I was reminded of the X-Men series and Miss Peregrine definitely resembles Xavier.
For my own 35 years old mind the book was a little too far fetched but I can imagine if I had read this as a young adult I would have been engrossed.
Basically, the peculiar children all have their own unique gift and live in a special 'loop' like time capsule keeping them a secret from the outside world. The story follows Jacob who for years has been told fascinating stories by his beloved Grandfather of a lady who turns into a bird or the boy who has bees living inside him. As he grew older Jacob began to suspect Abes' tall stories were because of his wild imagination. But after the untimely death of Grandfather in suspicious circumstances he realizes he may not have been telling stories at all....

Review: I liked reading the two little novellas, with events in there we'd seen from America's perspective, which we now get to see through other's eyes. It's really awesome :) I learnt a bit more about Aspen, which was really good. I've never been too sure about him. And Maxon's novella, it was good to (view spoiler) ["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

Review:
This is definitely not the kind of book I would generally read and it definitely not for the faint-hearted.
The book is written with pain and suffering from the outset and takes place in Germany around the rise of Hitler and the Holocaust. I kept seeing it pop up on my newsfeeds and to be honest wanted to read it just so I could say I have, and see if I agreed with all the wonderful reviews by readers and critics alike.
I won't like I struggled with this, I opted for the audio version because the Kindle version was nearly 600 pages long and due to the subject matter I thought I may need to take a breather throughout. It did take me a few days to get through it, and I struggled with the hardship. The main character Liesel wasn't hard to like, she was a courageous and brave young lady who found the best way to survive in the harshest of times. I won't give you the full story as we all know what atrocities happened in Germany during WWII.
One of the things I did enjoy about this book and shows the wonderful mind of the author, is that the who book is narrated by Death. I found his twist on who body and soul collecting quite entertaining and it kept the unpleasantness of the topic and the act of death quite lighthearted when quite obviously it is not. I just kept humming along to 'Sympathy For the Devil' by The Rolling Stones.

Review:
Oh my how I love this book.
I remember reading it for the first time at school when I was about 8 and I think my love of books took root!
It follows the story of Mary Lennox a lonely orphan who moves from the exotic signs of Indian to the cold and damp Yorkshire Moors. She is taken in by her Uncle who is a cripple and very rarely at home. The book is full of wonderful vibrant characters like Martha and Dicken (who has always reminded me of a male Snow White} he talks to the animals.
Mary discovers a secret garden that was her late Aunts, it has been locked up since she died but along with Dicken they bring it back to life along with her sickly Cousin who has been locked up in the big house for years as his Doctor worried he was born weak and sickly. As the garden grows as does the health and happiness at Misthlewhaite Manor.
A beautiful book for all ages.

This book has been on my TBR shelf for what seems like forever. I first attracted to the beautiful cover art and intrigued with the synopsis as it gives very little away.
I started listening to this in audiobook version but quickly switched to my Kindle. One of the main characters Noah was supposedly from London but the accent by the narrator was painful. Being English myself and knowing the accent well it grated on me and I found it distracting me from the actual plot.
Without giving too much away Mara Dyer wakes up in a hospital bed with no memory of how she got there or what has happened. After reading the opening scene , you as the reader have no idea where this book is going. Throughout I kept thinking is this a YA is it a Mystery is in Paranormal and I am still not sure how to classify it as it is all those things.
The book is wonderful and is full of twists and turns, there are various stories interwoven with Mara's and her family and I spent the whole book trying to find out what I was happening to her. The book definitely ends on a cliffhanger, which may again make you question everything you just read and if Mara is right about the assumption of herself. I probably will get around to reading book two but at a guess, it also will sit on my shelf for a while before I get around to it.

Oh my how I loved this book! Alice Clayton's style of writing never fails to make me laugh out loud whilst reading or in this case listening as I went for the audiobook option.
I will definitely be reading the next book in the series :) it was hilarious. Private chef to the Hollywood Elite, Roxie Callahan loses her temper with one of her clients and ends up losing all the referrals she had for her new thriving business. Having no choice but to return to the town she grew up in and manage her Mums Diner whilst she goes to compete in a reality show. The book is filled with hilarious characters from Roxie's hippie mother to her high school crush and his Husband who become fast friends.
The book is fully of witty banter, hot men, and sweet romance what more could you want?

Review: Just awesome :D Couldn't remember too much from the movie, and I think I've only read the book once, so it was nice to get a memory-refresher :) So much happened in the book, it's crazy it was fit into 250 pages! Review
I had really high hopes for this book, I was in love when I first spotted the cover, but sadly I am left disappointed!
This book had so much potential and I am sure lots of other people will have loved it, but for me personally it reminded me too much of other series I have read. For example 'The Selection Series' for the Prince to the Court, and I couldn't help find a lot of Katniss from the 'Hunger Games' in the main character 'Mare' there were so many similarities throughout the book I kept losing track of the story and I was slipping back into the others.

I just couldn't get past the other books! I listened to the audiobook version, maybe if I had read it it might have been different but my mind kept wondering back to American and Prince Maxton, I enjoyed that series so much I think the similarities put me off. I may possibly do a re-read at some point.

Another great book from Robyn Carr. Having withdrawal symptoms after finishing the Virgin River Series I thought I would give the Thunder Point books a try, I am not disappointed. All her books are easy and enjoyable to read, and I got through this one in a day. The book contains lots of different characters who have their own stories to tell, she almost weaves a web which links them throughout the series.
This book in particular, dealt with the difficulties of becoming a teenager, how horrible and cruel kids can be and starting over again. The characters of Cooper and Sarah from the first book also make an appearance as there their story continues. By the end of the book you feel like you know the whole town. I can't wait to get into book 3.
